Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I've seen the new black one at J.M. Motors, Noida. Personally, I like it more than the previous generation black. It has a matte finish and looks like a stealth machine. Blue color is a little louder (as expected), more inspired from the MotoGP color scheme.Originally posted by spacetech View PostCongratulations buddy!! Bike looks really cool in blue!! Anyone here seen the black color?? If so what are your impressions??
I'll be booking a blue one soon. Hopefully, within this month.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi Guys.Originally posted by Chandan92 View PostHi Jawed, please PM me, I can help you regarding this issue.
Got the survey done and the surveyor promptly refused to allow the claim. He is not able to make out how the bike got damaged internally without corresponding damage externally. He has said that he will check internally and come back..but nothing in his tone or body language conveyed anything for me to be hopeful.
The frame is damaged. The point at the very front of the chasis..where the handle stalk goes in is out of alignment by a very small amount...one can't make it by mere visual inspection...the SA took a string and tied a stone..and hung it on both sides...the space was different on both sides...that was clear..
The interesting thing of course is that the angle of bent suggests that the impact was from the left side..and not from right..which is surprising and leads me to believe that this is not from the current mishap but a legacy of the past crashes...
In any case the insurance claim is out of question and the prohibitive cost of replacement also rules out a new frame..
The SA says that the this can get straightened at a denter/painter's place...but they(Yamaha Service Centre) wont' have anything to do it..and if not done properly then I run the following two risks afterwards...1. uneven tyre wear for the front 2. and vibration and un predictable steering at highway speeds..
Chandan92 !..tell me please ..any help is welcome ..

Hey Rohit, waiting for you to pen down your thoughtsOriginally posted by rohit.t View PostI'll do it soon enough. But looking at your display picture, all I can say is, if you have a CBR250R currently, you'll absolutely love the R3! I have a CBR250R too and the R3 was the perfect upgrade to it except the ABS which I was fine with. Now it gets ABS too, no reason for you to not go for it. [emoji16]

It looks like tailored for track than touring. I doubt if it will see any day light in India.Originally posted by spacetech View PostGuys, I just saw this online and thought of sharing it here.

Yamaha will have to bring in these changes eventually if they want to stay in the competition. If you search for 2019 r3 in google you will find a real concept shown in an autoshow. It looks like a production ready model. I guess its in Indonesia. Iam not sure. AFAIK it seems like Yamaha are gearing up to bring these changes. Once unveiled globally they will roll it into India as well as R3 comes via the CKD route. It makes no sense to have two versions. Now that Ninja has bought in the overpriced 400, Yamaha could slaughter it if it could bring this in and rightly slot it in. There is also news that Yamaha is planning to launch MT-03 in India... Oh boy..2019 is going to be exciting. 😉😎.::<<Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly>>::.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Just an update about my bike.
Have done around 1100kms so far in 2 weeks. Getting used to the weight of the bike and growing confident with it. Got the first service done. Loving the torque and linear power delivery. The more I ride it, the more I feel like riding. Few pics -

They are as good as one can expect them to be. With ABS, the stopping distance is less and wheels don't lock (I have tested a couple of times). The Metzellers tyres are good with grip. Haven't felt anything of concern so far. I have found them to grip well in wet surfaces too from the one time that I rode after rain.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostHow's the metz and abs?
As I have ridden just 1100kms haven't tried to check the full potential of the bike or the tyres yet. Will take them up gradually as I cover more distance and get used to the bike well.Last edited by satish_patil; 04-20-2018, 09:49 AM.It's the journey that matters, not the destination.

With ABS, I believe the braking distance increases a bit more than STD version. The plus is wheels don't lock and the bike doesn't fish-tail and gives the option to steer away.Originally posted by satish_patil View PostThey are as good as one can expect them to be. I see that you have installed the RAM mount on your R3. Could you provide the link from where you got it and let us know how you got it installed on the R3. I believe it requires different set of screws and mounts. If possible a step by step guide of the installation would be highly appreciated. Thank you..::<<Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly>>::.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi everyone and happy weekend.
I have booked the 2018 Yamaha R3 Blue colour from Monarch Automobiles in Pune. Expecting delivery in 10-15 days. This is the update I kept getting from them so I asked them for a longer test drive to which they agreed. Took the BS3 one for a spin with the sales executive sitting pillion. Engine temperature was 3 bars with mostly moving traffic, 2 signals wherein the radiator fan kicked in (barely audible) and a small open stretch. I did feel heat on my ankle (short socks) but, this is a test bike and its near 40 Degrees in Pune. Temperature never went over 3 bars.
Gave it the beans in the open stretch and in no time this bike was hitting triple digits around 110-115 4th gear 11k RPM. Absolute Monster
. Did some rev bombs in the tunnel and it sounds more like a superbike than a sportsbike. Cant wait to get this
.
Has anyone done ceramic coating ? Any thoughts ?
