Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
A question to the owners here. I just enquired about the sliders and they said it costs around 4.5K. Has anyone got the sliders from Yamaha fitted onto your R3 ? How's the quality and is it worth ?It's the journey that matters, not the destination.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Is the instantaneous average set to show max of 40 it seems suspicious that it sticks to 40 nothing slightly above or below, observed instant average sticks between 20 to 30 range, enjoying R3 , more steady in crosswinds on highway and minor bumps don't affect.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Questions for all those who've bought the R3, especially the 2018 version.
- Did you all take a test-ride?
- Did your dealer provide you with the test-ride? Or did you take someone else's bike for a test-ride?
- Is it the dealer's discretion and decision whether to keep a motorcycle for test-ride?
I wrote to the Yamaha India customer service and in turn I got a call from them saying they don't give any test-rides for R3 yet.
I informed this customer service chap that I don't have friends or fellow-riders who have this motorcycle, so how do I make a decision whether to buy or not considering it's an expensive motorcycle.
Had it been a dealer's response, it would be understandable. Way back, with the earlier version of R3, the dealer refused to give me a test-ride saying there was no fuel in the tank at that moment. But this time it comes from Yamaha India customer service! Surprise, surprise!

I took test ride of R3 BS-III version. I primarily wanted to check my comfort with a fully-faired bike since I am not a big fan of their design, but found riding position on R3 quite relaxed and manageable. Not too forward leaning or crouched unlike R15-v3. Just not sure if I should shell out 4L+ on this one....awesome bike nevertheless.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I had taken R3 for rent for a day last year. I currently ride an RTR 160. Was shit scared of the sudden power for the first 50-100kms. Then when I took it to the highway and it felt like a dream. Would recommend people to take the bike for rent if you have the option, so that you get to experience the bike for longer duration as well as more distance. I was bowled over and wasn't willing to return the bike at the end of the day. It's the journey that matters, not the destination.

What I sense is, it will take a really long time for any of these manufacturers to make any such twin in India. So it's going to be this expensive for quite a while ahead. There could be marginal changes or govt-policy driven changes in prices but nothing that would amount to a betrayal.
I've had two Yamahas so far, each for more than 7 years. So this is going to be a long ride too.

Good you found an arrangement like that.

In Pune, I took a small test ride of the BS3 R3 on Gudi Padwa. I was riding the bike for the first time and I loved every bit of it even in moving traffic. Very easy to manage and great power. Could only get to 3rd gear but, the pull was amazing. I will ask them for a longer test ride when I book the 2018 one.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
R3 power delivery is not scary at all, in fact the screaming top end is where the fun is with 300cc parallel twins is at. the dukes are way more visceral in power delivery. 650 cc twins have more torque and of course higher capacity inline triples and four is a whole another level
