Why does it need 2.4l when usual oil change with filter change only need 2.2l? Here in this case we are not removing oil filter.

Anyways, as you said I would be changing the oil at 1st service. And need to be patience till then
Mine went to full bars after the recall because they forgot to topup the coolant.
I have a video of just after recall with the heating issue but I am still editing and I probably wont be able to finish editing untill the coming weekend as I have an interview today. I was planning to do this today

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey guys,
Hope y'all are doing well.
I would like to thank all you guys for your reviews, comments and suggestions as it helped me a lot in finalizing my decision to go for the R3 and I couldn't be happier. I joined the forum a few months back and have read through the entire R3 thread but this is my first post.
My bike was also part of the recent recall and I got the replacement done about two weeks ago so thought I would post my observations.
After the replacement, the gear shifts are super smooth and the clunkiness is gone especially after 2nd gear (shifting from 1st to 2nd is still a bit clunky and feels a bit rough). I found no difference in the clutch pull though.
The vibrations that I felt in the tank and pegs around 6k-7k rpms have been reduced to the point that they are hardly noticeable, if at all (maybe that's just the engine breaking-in as I'm at just over 500 kms on the odo).
Also, the temp gauge has not crossed three bars, even in Mumbai's heavy rush hour traffic (four bars was common, occasionally hitting five bars). I did feel a bit of heat at my ankles right after the replacement especially on the right side but have not noticed it since.
Those were a few things that immediately stuck out to me after the parts were replaced. Please let me know if there's anything else you guys would like to know.
Ride safe.

I was planning to do this todayWaiting for this video. Coolant level looks ok but I might need to top-up/refill. Today while coming to office, I didn't noticed that much heat. If you are in Bangalore, Yesterday's traffic must have hit you hard. Even then the temp bar didn't crossed 3, but engine heated up a lot. Probably because I was on 1 - 3 rd gears with max 20kmph
for a period of 1.30 hrs...!

Anyway, we should ensure the level must show full in the inspection window.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Coz the clutch was opened. Most of us also replaced oil filter.

When we service the bike, we just put 2.1 liter also changing the oil filter. As I understand the oil level window should show oil between min and max Markings in it.
My friend had changed oil filter also in his recall. The oil level was showing correctly between the markings too after pouring 2.1 liters of oil(100ml in filter and 2 liters).
I am just trying to understand why we would we put 2.4 liters. Also if the window is showing full that means they have put more than required oil, right?
Edit! Just realised that the engine oil quantity is 2.4L from factory.Last edited by JacobJ; 07-28-2016, 12:48 AM.

I've been looking to buy some mirror extenders but haven't had much luck.

Is it possible to maybe get them custom made and if so any idea from where? Or should I just wait till someone imports them here?
