Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am not sure as to which color is better after seeing the photos posted by fellow members. I think black does avoid unwanted attention.
And how does it feel to move the bike manually without hand grab rails at the back ? Any inconvenience ?

Better to see the bikes in real and decide the colour.Originally posted by Ayyachamy View PostI am not sure as to which color is better after seeing the photos posted by fellow members. I think black does avoid unwanted attention.

Regarding moving the bike without grab rails, I hold the strap on rear seat to move the bike without putting much strain on it. You'll get used to it in a few days. But yes, it won't be as easy as moving the bikes with grab rails. It's the journey that matters, not the destination.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I can perhaps shed some light on the second part. I own a very humble R15 V2 which comes without grab rails. R15 is so nimble on its feet that it hasn't actually posed a problem to me yet. I own a P220 too which has grab rails and the Kim Kardashian type rear weight of P220 still requires more efforts than my R15.Originally posted by Ayyachamy View PostI am not sure as to which color is better after seeing the photos posted by fellow members. Colour is a matter of choice. I have a new found appreciation of Yamaha Blue after I got the R15. Black would be my choice for every thing I own though.
That blue-silver looks absolutely fantastic on R15, I'm sure it wouldn't be less stunning on the sweetheart R3.Regards,

Otherwise definitely a pillion will miss the grab rail since the the bike has the agility factor and gets risky especially bumps.
On that note...I have not seen a grab rail on the R3 ...
Has anyone got a custom??
Please advise!

Hi K17, congratulations, I hope you are enjoying your new bike. I also bought my R3 (BS3) from monarch almost 1.5 years back. Bike is superb for city like Pune. I did do ceramic coating and will definitely recommend getting it done. Makes a ton of difference especially on the black plastic panels which otherwise turns to grey if not kept well. Just a good wash does the trick now instead of polishing it diligently every time. Hope this helps. Cheers!Originally posted by K17 View PostHi everyone and happy weekend.
I have booked the 2018 Yamaha R3 Blue colour from Monarch Automobiles in Pune.
Has anyone done ceramic coating ? Any thoughts ?

Where did you get the ceramic coating from and how much? What's the service cost like?

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I got the ceramic quoting done at Autotriz in Pimpri-Chinchwad. They did a great job, but the only complaint I have is that they tore one graphic on my bike under the pillion seat, which is irreplaceable. I am not too confident on their staff quality, so I would recommend looking for someone better. I am sure many might have cropped up since I got it done. It costed me around 6k back then. I haven't really gone through a completely paid service yet but my guess is that it will not be more than 2.5-3k. Keep me posted too if you find a better ceramic coating guy.Originally posted by K17 View PostThanks for replying.

Congratulations Buddy!Originally posted by K17 View PostHi everyone and happy weekend.
I have booked the 2018 Yamaha R3 Blue colour from Monarch Automobiles in Pune. Expecting delivery in 10-15 days. This is the update I kept getting from them so I asked them for a longer test drive to which they agreed. Took the BS3 one for a spin with the sales executive sitting pillion. Engine temperature was 3 bars with mostly moving traffic, 2 signals wherein the radiator fan kicked in (barely audible) and a small open stretch. I did feel heat on my ankle (short socks) but, this is a test bike and its near 40 Degrees in Pune. Temperature never went over 3 bars.
Gave it the beans in the open stretch and in no time this bike was hitting triple digits around 110-115 4th gear 11k RPM. Absolute Monster
. Did some rev bombs in the tunnel and it sounds more like a superbike than a sportsbike. Cant wait to get this
.
Has anyone done ceramic coating ? Any thoughts ?

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello guys, I am Jai currently in Kannur. I have been following the recent posts related to Yamaha R3 here. Very interesting and informative topics.
I have booked my Yamaha R3 in magma black. They said a waiting period of one month.
When i went to book the bike from Hara Yamaha in Kannur, there was 4 new Yamaha R3 (3 blue and one black) waiting to get delivered. They said all the bike have been paid up and will be delivered at the earliest.
Also i was surprised to learn that Kannur being a tier 3 city had a dealer with 4 Yamaha R3 ready for delivery but Cochin dealers, from my enquiries, are not even interested in taking the bookings.
Hoping to get my ride soon.

I got same kind of response from Cochin dealers. I am from Kollam and I contacted Cochin dealer to get the bike at the earliest. But they talked like they had no clue about the bike and I wrote to Yamaha India and the response was immediate. They told me to wait for one month as the bike will be available in Kollam. Even I am planning for magma black.Originally posted by jaivrk View PostHello guys, I am Jai currently in Kannur. I have been following the recent posts related to Yamaha R3 here. I did a chat with Detailing Devils and their Armor Pro with 3 year warranty costing 12K. Will also check Ceramic Pro.Originally posted by on_the_road View PostI got the ceramic quoting done at Autotriz in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi Friends, I recently shifted my life from a N250r (used for 7 years) to a 1 year old very less run Yamaha R3. I am facing minor issues like vibrations post 6500 rpm (handle bar, seat etc.). had a long ride and i couldn't push the motorcycle past 110 kmph due to the excessive vibrations. I don't know whether it is normal or not as i had null vibration in N250r. I am also getting only 20 KMPL max in city (Highway is a good 30 kmpl avg.). how accurate is that L/100km avg reading in speedo meter ? The coolant is getting spilled on engine case ( little bit here and there, but again nothing in N250r for 7 long years) I am planning to change the oil from Yamalube to Motul 7100 or Maxima (suggested from my garage). Any inputs on it ?
