Especially in delhi where temperature can go very high in summer and a radiator grill will only obstruct airflow.
A grill would cost you about 3.5k to 4k. A new radiator costs 3.5k.
Bent fins do not cause cause any dip in cooling performance of R3.

You will just need to inform the water wash guys to not spray over the radiator.
Seriously. Is that how much R3 radiator costs? I might skip the hassle involved in finding and installing the grill(even cheaper aliexpress stuff in that case).

Another debate going in my head is over frame sliders( as they come with its own advantage/disadvantages) How much does the fairing cost?

I'm not sure of the cost but if you scan through the pages here you might find it.

Yes its indeed 3.5k for the radiator, compared to 27k on the Ninja 300. Just saying.

Many showrooms have run out of existing stock of R3.
You might not be able to get an R3 let alone any offer.
However you could get a used ABS version for 3.5L and non ABS version for 2.4L on OLX.
Once April 1 deadline of BS6 norms take effect a new bike will be impossible.

Best to check at Pacer Hebbal, Bangalore Wheels Rajajinagar, Perfect Riders Lal bagh, and Vinayak Domlur.
The last one is a little sketchy.

There is still some BS4 R3 stock available with Yamaha, I booked my R3 in last week of Jan . The showroom was able to order and get the bike delivered few days back and the manufacturing date was Nov 2019.

This was the case in Chennai and there is a good possibility of available stock with Yamaha. Just that the showroom guys might need some certainty that you will definitely buy the bike.

Hi, I have booked R3 on 20th Jan, still waiting delivery. When i booked, i was told blue is available. After a week or 10 days the showroom informs me that only black is available, so i had no choice of colors and still the bike has not been delivered. The wait is insane for R3 sometimes going upto 2 months.

Which color did you get ? If you got the blue, you are lucky.

even i am travelling to Ladakh in late June,
i have purchased Cramster Colt Saddle Bag (37 lts) and i found it ideal for R3 , only thing is when the bags are filled they protrude inside due to the narrow shape of the R3's tail and may touch the rear tyre.
for this issue i have done a bit of a jugaad instead of going for another ugly looking saree guard .
i have removed the L shaped bracket of saree guard and made C shaped bracket with the same measurements and attached it to same bolts that holds saree guard.
well jugaad looks crude coz this just like a prototype made. its not made to hold weight, though now keeps bags 'away' from rear tyre .
when saddle bags are mounted this 'jugaad' gets well hidden between and i guess its also lighter in weight than the saree guard cum barbeque grill
the whole thing cost me only 350 bucks.
i guess i will let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
This is one awesome jugaad. Is it possible to modify this to include grab rails ? How effective is this for the saddle bags ?

I got the blue. In fact , there was another R3 (blue) delivered by the same showroom few days before mine.

Could be that, some showrooms are playing the safe game to avoid taking orders/delaying orders because it is just about a month before BS6 deadline and don't want to have bike unsold in case the buyer cancels . Again this is just a wild guess .

Infact dealers ask upfront 1L booking amount (non-refundable) incase the buyer cancels the booking. Another thing is what i believe is that black being a slow moving color, the company may be pushing dealers to sell black stating blue out of stock, but all this is just an assumption.

Strange !! Is it same across all the dealers ?

My dealer was not pushy ( 5 K Advance) . He initially requested 25K so he could for faster delivery. But i paid only 5K and it took about 2 weeks for delivery. During the two weeks, i didn't have to follow up with him. May be , I was lucky enough to end up with a good dealer and he probably had a great contact with Yamaha to prioritize.

Regarding color, it was otherwise because i was told 20-25 days waiting period for black as sourcing blue is faster that black. Initially i asked for Black since all my previous ones were black. Since matte finish is difficult to maintain, I changed to blue.

I have read about the 1L booking on this forum earlier too. maybe some dealers are taking that amount, not sure if its official.

I guess dealers in bigger cities have more influence and contacts, at my place (Vadodara gujarat), there are hardly any R3's seen, maybe only about 6-8 till date.

You need to be very careful with this, the Showroom could be taking you for a ride.
If they keep delaying the delivery and the last date for registering BS4 vehicles are up then you will be stuck with a bike you cannot register or your booking amount getting lost.
Make sure you hold your showroom accountable for the status of the bike and keep calling them daily if you have to. If still no update is showing up shoot a mail to Yamaha India with full details of the booking amount demanded by the showroom guys and that they claim it is non refundable and not delivering the bike in the promised time.

Also if i get the tank ppf wrapped do tank grips stick to it?
                            Congratulations on the booking.
Go for the Motofusion one for radiator guard.
Good one, simple and breathable design and easy to fit.

Tank grip will require extra adhesive and if later PPF removed, tank grips will not be reusable if adhesive was too sticky.

Go for the Motofusion one for radiator guard.
Good one, simple and breathable design and easy to fit.

Tank grip will require extra adhesive and if later PPF removed, tank grips will not be reusable if adhesive was too sticky.
Thanks!. For now I ordered one from Bandidos(which ultimately is from Aliexpress). Looks decent. Still waiting to take delivery of the bike.

Did you book the blue one ? If so that is great, as i was told blue is out of stock
The suspicion w.r.t. dealer pushing black is reasonable. But its actually the opposite case this time. Even i booked blue. Most of the blue stocks(read at factory since no dealer keeps the inventory now) were finished early Feb. I booked blue color but black is the only option left. Even i had to give the nod to go ahead with booking for black in Delhi.
