I am confused with color to book. Can owners shed some light on matte black color queries.

    1. Are red decals removable?
    2. Since i have never owned any matte black bike/car until now how do we maintain this color. Are there different polish and wax for matte paint? How dust repellent is this color?

    Thanks in advance.

Black colour is a pain to maintain and very loud when it comes to scratches, but when maintained properly it gives a shine that no other colour can match. And matte finish just increases the chances of scratches on the paint.
I use to own a black R3 so speaking from experience.
So basically if you have access to a proper closed parking space and ability to wash the bike regularly go for black, if not go for the blue , it's easier to maintain.

jokes aside, what was very apparent being next to this guy was how comfortable the ergonomics are! no issues on the back or stress on the hands.
I have to ride my bike everyday or else I'll go into depression.

There's always a V3 chasing me. Most of the times. I have removed the 'R3' decals so some think it's a V3.

      Happy riding!!!

      Decals can be removed easily.

Black appears more dirty than the blue. Dirt and muck will stick more on matte obviously. That's what I've noticed. Blue is easier to maintain.

I have rode my bike 3 times so far, all in heavy Bengaluru city traffic.
Per the console, my average mileage is 14kmpl, make what you will of it!!

One thing that broke my heart, even though I made sure my belt isnt exposed, my jackets fabric caused a lot of scratches on the petrol pump area!
Finally got a tank pad, should I also get Tank Grips? Does it scratch/affect your formal pants?

Do we get any sort of coating for Matt black to avoid scratches?

Most coatings have a glossy finish so the part won't remain matte anymore.
As far as tank grips goes, you have different type of grip materials available. For example tech specs are a soft rubber compound type which won't scratch or eat into the fabric of the jeans/formal pants, but those are expensive as well. Cheaper options are the protruding type grips which can cause friction / wear on your jeans.
There used to be a product called stomp grips, can't find it being used anywhere now a days..but if you can get those might be the best fit.

So its close to a month now since I've got the bike and 700kms done. I'm looking to get a slip on exhaust for the bike most probably after 1st service. So it'd be really helpful if someone directs me towards a few good brands and from where exactly I can get them from. Also is post 1st service an appropriate time to put in a slip on exhaust or should I wait more for the engine to break in etc. The reason I'm asking this question is because I see even some superbike owners use replica exhaust for their bikes and I'm not very eager to go that way as I have this perception that a fake/replica exhaust will harm the engine. If anyone has any technical knowledge about that please feel free to educate me.[emoji28]

                    Cheers.!

Depending on the dealership that you go to for service, they may void your bike warranty if your bike has a 3rd pty slip on exhaust.
That said, most people here install a slip on after the warranty expires. Not all bike parts are cheap and warranty covers unwanted expense.
Also, slip on or any other exhaust that I have seen on R3 sounds really bad at lower RPM. Its only the Original exhaust that sounds great.

AFAIK Superbikes do not carry warranty in most cases and do not come with free services from dealerships. Also, superbikes in at least a 3 cylinder engine that sounds great even at lower RPM. So any exhaust sounds good on it.

R3 on the other hand sounds like an RE or any other single cylinder bike with an aftermarket or no exhaust.

                        Branded/Expensive Option
Orion motors above the Suzuki Showroom in Koramangala, Exactly opposite Forum Mall(when coming from the Christ college side) stocks the Akra slip-on.

                        Cheaper/Knockoff
Other options are the cheap first copy replica exhausts you get from random bike shops. Quality of these cheap knockoffs are also something to think about.

I fully agree with Gollum here.
The bike won't sound so great with a slip on. The Akra would be the closest you would get to a good decent sound output but cost vs output is pretty bad for this case.
3or4 pot engines is where opening up the exhaust actually gives improvements in sound.
IMO the R3 sounds best in stock form it has that deep grumble and sounds not too loud to the point of being a nuisance and personally would not want to change that.

Thank you for the reply..!! So if not an exhaust system are there any other mods possible on the r3 especially ones that enhances performance or ride feel? For example a Quickshifter would be a really great addition imo.

Exhaust comes down to personal preference, my 2 cents Is that, get a good quality exhaust particularly made for the bike and of it's a full a system , make sure to slap on a ecu and a air filter. If your not into changing the exhaust but still want performance, you can play around with the sprocketing , or change the ecu.

                                It's not really required.
Especially in delhi where temperature can go very high in summer and a radiator grill will only obstruct airflow.
A grill would cost you about 3.5k to 4k. A new radiator costs 3.5k.
Bent fins do not cause cause any dip in cooling performance of R3.

You will just need to inform the water wash guys to not spray over the radiator.
