What is this in reference to?Originally posted by mandoo View PostI haven't ridden a ninja 300 but I have the honda. It's night and day. When I say thinly veiled danger I'm trying to describe the fact that the bike isn't a new rider centric experience like the 250's were and the Honda seems to be. The R3 has the potential to damage you at the first chance you give it. Compared to a 600 or a 1000, yes tame but if you ride it hard it's less forgiving than its counterparts.

and what is "having a honda"? what Honda do you have?
TBH, I feel R3 is one of the most forgiving, yet well built entry level multi cylinder bike.
It might not have the chassis of the smaller R15 , hence not great for tracks, but this is a bike you can effortlessly cruise all day long on, while still hitting the tracks and not feel heavy footed.#Shadowfax Apache RTR 180 ABS - 2014 - 2019

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Looks like that is it. The YZF R3 has been officially removed from the Yamaha India website. By the looks of it, India will have to wait till rest of the world is updated to BS6/EU5/EU6, which would be approximately early next year.Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

What happens to the service of our vehicles, if it is falling on dates within lockdown period. Will we get those services ? Will it affect the warranty ? Please share your thoughts.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

Not sure about bike manufacturers but car manufacturers have already put out the word that the warranty period will be extended for the duration of the lockdown time so that it does not cause any problems to end consumers.Originally posted by Janesh.J View PostWhat happens to the service of our vehicles, if it is falling on dates within lockdown period. Ideally Service date deadline falling within lockdown should ideally be relaxed and extended on request.
Cheers

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi all,
Does anyone have any clue where one can source a windshield as shown in the picture below? I'm only seeing such mods on bikes outside India which leaves me wondering. From the looks of things it looks like a yamaha made official product. If not the exact one atleast something similar would do. Most online sites do not ship windscreens internationally as they are prone to damage so my only way is to source it from within the country so any help regarding where I can get it from will be much appreciated [emoji16]
Cheers..!!

It's not only Yamaha, most, if not all manufacturers in India are on a quarantine wipe-out of models from their websites. It will have to be seen, as to when some models will be reinstated. BS6 Yamaha should make a come back, albeit, it can take time at least that's what I feel. The bike sold abroad is Euro V compliant, so it will have to be seen, how Yamaha will play this out.Originally posted by AmitBanik46 View PostAny source of this news that you can share with us?

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

So there is no R3 in india for almost 2 years?? Should someone go for 2nd hand bike then? My friend came across a 2018 R3 15k driven and asking price is whopping 3.25L!Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIt's not only Yamaha, most, if not all manufacturers in India are on a quarantine wipe-out of models from their websites. Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I didn't say two years. It's just that Yamaha might launch the bike sooner or later, the discretion is at their will. We'll have to wait and see. The FZ 250 has been revised with newer headlamp units, and a couple of days back, this wasn't there on the website, and now it's there.Originally posted by AmitBanik46 View PostSo there is no R3 in india for almost 2 years?? It's something like this, you just never know, when Yamaha might throw a sudden twixt, we'll, again as I said, have to wait and watch.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Well, as yamaha launches the updated international models in india almost 1 year delay thats why I said 2 years. No international r3 launch this year would mean india would get the next r3 by 2022.
The similar trend (ignoring india as a market) is done by all japanese 2 wheeler manufacturers (honda, kawasaki, suzuki). Look at KTM, they are dominating 200-400 cc category in terms of sales in such short time!!
When these brands will learn?

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
By that time, the new R3 would be already 3 years old abroad and time for another update. There is a talk already that we wont get the new R3 and we would be getting the next update only(would see some real updates rather than just fairing and USD, probably maybe VVA as all other R’s got it). This is the reason why we did not get it in first place and they continued manufacturing old R3 just for Indian market. Ofcourse I dont have any link to backup this, but reading through some Thai and Indonesian sites, this is well understood and makes sense as well.Originally posted by AmitBanik46 View PostWell, as yamaha launches the updated international models in india almost 1 year delay thats why I said 2 years. Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I dont think R3s were manufactured in india!! They were still coming as CKD. Ninja 300s were being manufactured in india and that cause 33% price drop. I really dont see the value anymore in R3 if only cosmetic changes are provided in india market on top that over the top high price! Until yamaha reduces the pricing of R3s (by local manufacturing like ninja 300) I dont see it is VFM twin sports tourer any more!Originally posted by Ivin View PostBy that time, the new R3 would be already 3 years old abroad and time for another update.
