Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I took my blue R3 to karol bagh new delhi, and all the people were fascinated by how good the bike looks. There was a crowd gathered around my bike. Perception differs from people to peopleOriginally posted by GollumI saw an R3 black at passport seva kendra Bangalore
They guy was wearing a cheap used like helmet that looked so old that it might break if its dropped from a table's height.
Apart from that the bike only looks marginally bigger than r15 but sadly it did not look so good that one would even notice it.

Seems u saw something else. I don't think you can miss an R3 that easily. Unless you can't differentiate between a troll and a critic.Originally posted by GollumI saw an R3 black at passport seva kendra Bangalore

Gollum: This is an Ownership/Experience thread. A fleeting glance does not constitute any of these.
This is the 3rd senseless post from you my friend. What is the fun in such comments?

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello everyone,
Firstly congratulations to all R3 owners.
Now quickly coming to my point - as i see it - anyone considering an upgrade to R3 must be pitting it against the only true competition i.e the Ninja 300 (except the threadstarter :/)
I want to upgrade to twin cylinders + do a good bit of touring.
So here is my question:-
=> Which of the two bikes is more apt?
* As a tourer? (I read earlier that R3 needs premium fuel but N300 runs fine on regular fuel)
* Everyday usage/city riding?
* Pillion comfort?
* Long term ownership? (Taking into consideration the cost of ownership)
I hope it will help out a lot of people.
And pardon me asking this but somewhere i feel that ONE of the many reasons for people leaning more towards the R3 is because of the exclusivity/flavor of the season factor + slightly lesser price tag (earlier we only had the N300 @ 4lacs. So it was a straight jump from 1-2 lac singles to '4lacs'. Now we have the R3 which is as I/We like to tell ourselves '3.something' although very close to 4 but wait its NOT 4... Its '3.something'.
P.s- I didnt post this in 'what bike' because i am still few months away from full buying potential
+ yet to testride R3 and benelli and go through the ownership threads of benelli and N300.... pheww!

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Did any one get the quartz paint protection film put on the bike yet? I need a comprehensive solution for scratch and paint protection, what can be the best option. Also if anyone knows where to get this done in Pune, please let me know. Thanks!The way you ride is the way you are..

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Well both are good tourers, depends on what your personal choice is. As many would agree, R3 and N300 are almost the same with almost same ergonomics. So as other members said here, you want a blue or black bike go for R3 or if you want a white or green bike go for N300.Originally posted by dnewguy View PostHello everyone,

Now I bought it simply because of two reasons, I'm a Yamaha fanboy and the other thing is the headlight is different from N300. I never considered outside these two as both of them speak of high quality, Ninja maybe a bit more, and both give you fantastic engines.
That's a wrong info you read. R3 doesn't need premium fuel.Originally posted by dnewguy View PostSo here is my question:-

I've done over 7K lms within a month and there were a couple of long rides I did. So on Indian highways you'll not get premium fuel at every petrol bunk but still my R3 returned a very healthy FE without any knocking from the engine. So clearly, R3 doesn't need any premium fuel.
It can be used easily for everyday usage/city riding. I do it sometimes but in medium-heavy traffic it'll get hot as does the N300 also. So take your pick. The clutch is light making it easier for R3 owners to ride it in traffic.Originally posted by dnewguy View Post* Everyday usage/city riding?
Pillion comfort is really good as compared to R15V2, RC series. I did a retrun trip to Goa from B'lore along with a pillion and the person never had any issues.Originally posted by dnewguy View Post* Pillion comfort?
I guess none has ridden that much to say something on this. But for a 320 cc bike, the service cost of around 1400 INR after every 5K kms, I guess is very good.Originally posted by dnewguy View Post* Long term ownership? (Taking into consideration the cost of ownership)
Hope I'm able to answer your queries as per your need.
