Re: Mahindra Mojo Owners Reviews and Experiences

^ Not bad! If you want, have the rear hugger installed when you go for the first service because that is almost a necessity, as you will soon find out.

Since I am outside Bangalore from the past week and have no further ride updates, here's a random pic of the Mojo toolkit I took while disconnecting the battery - it comes with some fuses and a fuse remover. Nice touch, no?

You can go to Alfa Motors at Whitefield or Domlur, which ever is nearer to you, but yeah as tanay suggested, if you want to test ride it on highway then its better to go to Whitefield.

Re: Mahindra Mojo Owners Reviews and Experiences

I have booked this bike without taking a test ride :O as this is the only bike that fit my requirements and budget. I have booked the bike online as I am not in India right now and will be taking delivery once I am back by February 3rd week 2016. tanay, Brother, how is the overall service from Mahindra ( I chose Domlur showroom in Bangalore and Farhan, the mojo manager is in touch with me and he is very helpful) and how did you feel handling the bike in the Bangalore traffic. Does the engine heat up? Also I heared that seat height is on the higher side, I am 5'7", will I be able to put my both feet on ground comfortably? by the way this is my first comment in xbhp, and proud to be part of the group

I can tell you that the highway efficiency is around 35 if you keep it in the 100 to 120 kmph range but this is an approx figure that I got while running in.

Well in that regard we are together - I am also out of Bangalore till January. The service is excellent and there is a separate bay at the workshop. And Farhan indeed is very helpful in all matters (I took my bike from the same showroom)

Once the bike is moving you can handle it easily (pushing this around is the difficult part). However one can't always duck into narrow gaps in standing traffic due to the length of the bike. I have every reason to believe you can chuck this bike around easily once you get the hang of it.
The bike heats up but the rider won't feel it. At crawling speeds you will sometimes feel small wisps of hot air on your hands as the hot air rises up - there's no hot air deflected to the legs at all.
Finally seat height - on the Mojo ride to Chikmagalur there were a few riders shorter than you and they had no problems - city or highway. It is just a matter of getting used to the bike.
Advance congrats on the bike and joining the group

And in other news, the RTO allotted a number for my bike - it is an odd number. My Pulsar has an even number. So I am set in case Bangalore also enforces Delhi's silly odd-even rules

It had 15Kms on ODO when I took the delivery and now I've ridden about 150kms on it and here are my initial impressions..
The Bike grabs a lot of attention like a SBK, thanks to its dual exhaust which is pure music to ears. Whenever I stop somewhere, people just get close and stare at it and some even ask questions like "how much CC", "what is the cost" and "what is the mileage" and few even said "channagidde" (it's nice)
I've filled Nitrogen in the tyres and the ride feels excellent, you will be in total control over the bike while riding it and yes, you can flick it around in traffic once you get used to it. The bike feels heavy when moving it around while parking and the front also feels heavy while riding and one needs to get used to it. The bike goes up to 85kmph at 5K RPM in 6th gear and I've touched around 96kmph till now. Coming from a CB Unicorn, I felt that the clutch lever is a bit hard and causes wrist pain after riding for long time and I sorely miss the gear indicator as I am almost always in wrong gears while downshifting, I guess I'll have to get adusted to it.
Within city limits, you will have to work through the gears very often if you are in the running-in period. The higher gears are straining the engine below 4K RPM and if you go above 4K the speed climbs up fast. The quality of the switch gears is decent but then the paint quality is not upto the mark at certain places, if you get close and observe carefully. Since I have the Saree Guard on, I did take my mom while going to the temple, she was a little scared and she felt like sitting on a mountain but the pillion seat is just manageable for short spins.

The bike does heat up a little while in bumper-to-bumper traffic (specially in namma Bengaluru), but most of the heat is diverted away from your legs and you will feel little heat only in stop-go traffic, which I think is manageable considering its a single-cylinder 295cc engine.

I think that doesn't apply on 2 wheelers :P

I am close to my first service. The bike feels really good and has gathered a lot of attention. I am used to managing first gear in traffic with my apache so I am applying the same techniques on the mojo too and it is giving me somewhat equal response if I stay around 20 kmph in the first gear.

For those who are interested the last mileage I got in the city was 28 kmpl.

BTW, here is one more picture of me on the bike. *chuckles*

Biking is transcendental evolution.
Longest ride(Mahindra Mojo)- Delhi - Kempty - Chakrata - Delhi - 860 kms - 3 days.

According to my SA it might be launched during Mid-2016. ABS version will also be competitively priced with an increase around 10-20K (on-road) over the non-abs variant. Also for existing customers the ABS kit cannot be retrofitted easily and would cost a bomb since there are a lot of part changes including the Alloys and Instrument cluster.

Also my 1st service is done, the bike feels a lot smoother now than before, the throttle response is better and the bike easily climbs upto 7K RPM. The gearbox has become crisp and riding it is more fun than before. But as pointed out earlier, the bike is not a powerhouse, you will not climb speeds faster than say KTMs, it's very linear and you have to work your way to get to speeds above 120kmph.

Cheers

Yes even I am getting some indications that the ABS can be retrofitted to the non-abs bikes but at a higher cost. If it is within 20-30 K then I may go in for it.
The alloy wheels should not need to be changed as the pulser ring is on the front and rear discs like so -

As for the gearbox, I am indeed quite happy - one push and it snicks down/up. Finding neutral is approx. 500000 times easier than on my P200.

Oh man I'm so glad I found this thread. Thank you so much for sharing your first impressions and then a wonderful review. Congrats on your acquisition

I have been considering getting a bike for city commuting and touring. I've been riding my trusty Honda Dio for 5 years now () and it has also been the only relationship that has lasted so long. So, I need to get myself a bike haha.

I have done some amount of biking, but I have never owned a bike. I guess I need a learner bike to get started and I have been considering getting the Suzuki Gixxer. But, you know, most 150-180 cc bike segment's on-road pricing is close to 1 - 1.2 lakh anyway and it seems pointless to invest in a bike segment that not only deprecates as unsurprisingly fast as a smartphone, but hardly lasts a couple of years.

So, since I'm spending that much money anyway, I was considering all my options and after reading this thread, I'm sold!
I'm really glad you're enjoying this bike. More importantly, also one of my main considerations of getting a bike was good after-sales support and I'm glad that is pretty decent too.

I've started saving up for this bike for a motherload down payment and hopefully, I'll be able to pick this up before March (or the ABS version)

Also, I realised that this is my first ever comment on this forum since I joined in 2010 :O

PS: Dat Zauba data..

Replaced the oil filter and same grade oil. The Company is quite firm in not allowing mineral oil, even with more frequent changes during the running- in

I find the gearbox clunky even at 4500 rpm shifts. When do you shift? And how much is the free play in your clutch? Thanks.
