Hi friends,
I am in Kolkata currently with my 2.5 year old R15S (20XXX kms) and in urgent need of service. I was a regular at the SVC in Rajajinagar and got good service there but not aware of where to go to in Kolkata. Need a competent one as there are a few issues to be ironed out.

pls suggest.

As i mentioned earlier in the thread, I bought tapered roller bearings from pyramid parts ebay UK and fitted long time before . Its time to update its effectiveness. Just one word superb , go for it if you got the patience to work or the person who is working for you. It took me almost 6-7 times to remove handle bar and set the tightness just right. Taper rollers should not be moving free like ball bearing. There should be some preload. Too much preload will spoil the bearing and too little also eat the bearings. Feedback is amazing and as light as feather. Changing directions is fast than you think. Let pictures do the talking as everything is self explanatory. I feel I could add 0.5~1mm spacer in the bottom bearing to have proper clearance. At the deepest pothole I do hear clunk but a minor one.

For those who want to try taper bearing, you have to order individual top and bottom bearing. Before ordering contact seller and ask for seals. They will send for free. Total cost including shipping was around INR 2600

I believe its due to the concave shape of the cylinder mould. As it cools the impurities float on the top and as it cools the brittle slag and aluminium cracks. I have in my bike too from day 1 and its 2 years old inching towards 50K

Funny I never noticed that with my old FZ-16, probably due to the all Black coating?

This view got me thinking for a moment as I'm currently looking at a friend's R15 V2.0 (1.5 years old) and that doesn't seem to have this much of visible cracklings..

For now, I'll assume this is a normal sight, thanks for the confirmation buddy.

Nothing to worry. These are shrinkage chipping after the aluminium is pulled out of the mould similar to water dried from the pool.

Just noticed the below "aging cracks(?)" on my R15S' cylinder block walls last evening, is this okay? -



The bike is almost 2 years old, 17K+ KMs ran.

Try Torcente bangalore. I have been servicing my Fz25 currently and R15 in past. They are fine. You can watch while they do the service. They wont charge you anything extra other than required.

If there is no sticker available I will even buy the whole thing. New bike yaar. Just 6 months old :-(

Brother they have R15v2 stickers to sell separately . So I think there also be stickers for our model

As far as I know, you don’t get Stickers separately, you have to change whole fairing.

3weeks ago i had an accident. Till now we are not able to find stickers for my r15s as they are not available in assam. Can anyone buy and send me the stickers via courier? I will pay . Please help

At last found a good Mobile mount for Clip-on Handle bar.

Installed a new mobile mount for the bike.
Cost Rs.550(w/o Charger) +100 (for mobile charger)
The mount is very stable. Tried 100+ speed and also bumpy roads no issues.
Installed in GP road, Chennai.
