Fixed New Rolon chain with sprockets, sprocket bearing and cush rubber. unfortunately i couldnt able to rivet it so bought fz chain link and fitted. Bike is a pleasure to ride now. Pretty happy with my work. Also replaced the both throttle cables which was a nightmare. Also upgraded the lights to projectors. These are okaish and light up the road decently. Only one projector is working now as I have to do the wiring harness for the projectors. With 2 projectors running together its much better.

Can anybody suggest me chain replacement for R15S. Is there any X ring chain available. Stock chain is still running strong @58K kms.

Anyone here in Kolkata knows a mechanic who services R15 bikes like it was their own. Replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If nothing worked then I will go for gixxer/sf... Please suggest....
You can get v3 but you'll have to take care of the panels a bit more than R15S as the quality of the paint and plastic parts is not as good as compared to S, you can go for the v3 if you want a more sportier riding position and the new goodies(it'll just need a little bit more care) or go for the S if you need a bit of comfort and can live with the fact that it's a really old design.

Yamaha R15 is a fuel injected and Liquid cooled bike. It is not like other aircooled carbureted bikes. So, don't go to local mechanic, they may tighten or overtightened bolts or nuts which has rubber-oring in joints. I advise stick to Authorised Service centers, as they know how to service any Yamaha.
FYI, Technocon Yamaha Service near Ankurhati, NH6 (Howrah) is very good service center AFAIK. The service head Goswami da is very knowledgeable. Visit on weekdays on early rush (before 9am) so that you can request the service enquiry guy to give the bike to a well mechanic. Otherwise, Aquad Yamaha and Tanushka Auto is also good but not better than Technocon.
