Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey bro, I am not sure if the RX100 stands you saw were original or not. There are a lot of duplicate spares available, the one I bought is original for RX100 and is solid built and heavy, and even after 3 years no rust or paint chipping. Yes, if you say that you want it for R15, any shopkeeper or service center will charge you 800RS, they think that if we can afford an expensive bike, we can buy expensive stand, and its their right to charge extra. I just asked for RX100 main stand and pin, without the spring. Did not mention R15 anywhere. they said it costs 200 Rs. I just paid and left. Someone in this very thread had told me that it is a direct fit and he was using it himself for quite a while. So I trusted his advise and it worked.Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostI have the center stand which my service center guys use, bought it for close to 800 bucks. What I noticed was, a couple RX100 type stands I looked around in local shops looked kinda fragile with thinner tubes, this svc one is built solid.
(But I wanted to save some bucks too)
Cheers.

Thanks a ton bud. Will buy it this weekOriginally posted by Ankey View PostSorry for the late reply sir, but if you have not yet bought the center stand, do not buy it from Yamaha. Go to any local auto spare part shop and ask for RX100 main stand and center pin. It will cost you 200 rs and is a direct fit on R15. Other options will cost you a huge amount of money. I have been using the RX100 stand for 3 years now and it the best option. whenever you need to wash the bike, pop the stand between the 2 metal hoops and slide the center pin across, then straighten up the bike and use your foot to keep the stand in place and use your hands on handle bar and pipes of the rear foot pegs.

Thanks.....Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostYou got 2 options -
1. Buy R15S. Invest in widening on the seat by adding some cushioning sideways. Invest in an aftermarket saree guard with welded footrest. For occasional use, she'll be fine.
2. Look for some other bike with flatter rear seat.
Regards.

Sometimes only...Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostIt comes with a saree guard, which doesn't have a footrest(at least mine didn't have), so only option is bike's rear footrest. However I believe you can install an aftermarket saree guard with in built footrest which should be more comfortable.
How often is she going to sit behind you?
Regards.

Is there anything to rest her legs?Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostI have my doubts on this. Even if she manages to sit properly sideways, she won't be comfortable for long.
For sitting sideways, the seat is too narrow, you might need to widen the seat up.
Regards.

Yes sometimes. But surely it will overcome with the joy of ride.Have driven 150+ km in single stretch Several times and im still love to go another.Originally posted by Kaushikassam View PostIt is very painful or what? I am planning ti buy this bike this week
According to me
5 to 10 km you may feel wrist pain
30 to 40 KM you may feeel shoulder pain.
After that there is nothing to worry about....

TheArcher84;1280109: You're great! Thank you for sharing your experience. It is very helpful for me. You're getting a very good mileage with your R15s (Touchwood).
I driven my friend's R15V2 for a good 40 kms and felt aches on my shoulders and wrists, but honestly I enjoy the riding. I am sure I will be used to the aggressive riding position in few days. I believe, it is very difficult to understand friendliness to a riding position after a short TD, also you can't skip the initial pain if you're not habitual to the aggressive riding position. The main point is you can survive the initial pain or not?
Waiting for some more responses...
Thanks,
