I don't know much about the Rapide... You can ask this in their website itself! They'll answer you.Originally posted by vivekshrma View Post

The Claw is a bulky. Moreover, I need pillion space too. That's why I am leaning towards the Rapide, if it is compatible with R15s.Originally posted by Santhu Shyam View PostI would recommend you ViaTerra Claw saddle bag which is a perfect fit for R15! Check that out!

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Cool. We shall try to catch up some day. I travel twice a week via same route till Ranipet. One can run for days together if the bike is run at 75 kmph. I get about 54kmpl and I maintain about 70-90 speed.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostThat sums it up all. I am planning to start at 5 am from Home and try to take the Mudichur route and reach Sriperumbudur by 6. From there till Ranipet toll. I can keep 70kmph. Beyond it is a bliss, so I am expecting to reach Hosur by 1030 - 11 with 2 stops. Fuel is not required as my bike currently gives 48-49kmpl. So on highways I am expecting even better figures.
Stops will be for breakfast and for loo.

I cannot agree more about the dependence factor this machine offers to you in addition to being agile and nimble. I did quite a number of long runs on this (version 1) in 2008-10. To attend the convocation at IIT KGP, I chose to add that extra spice of adventure when I rode my R15 right from Bhubaneswar to Kharagpur, reaching in 6 hrs. Of course, I took one lunch break in between and my average speed was 110km/hr. R15 was kind of new that time, so I had a fun time doing short drags at higher rpms inside the kgp campus. It is not like showing off but you guys like when you become cynosure of others' eyes. Guess what? When I reached my department, my project guide was awestruck, knowing that I made a road trip all the way from Bhubaneswar to Kharagpur.
I made another long trip without any break which took me above 6 hrs. Upon reaching the place, the radiator fan went into role for almost an hr and there was a drop in throttle response, which surprised me, when I tried to ride it right after. But all was good the next day and it was ready to partner with your unusual road trips.
Overall, it started with CBZ when the Indian market could feel it can also bedazzle their people with this kind of offerings, R15 opened up a new horizon of style and performance and now others like RCs, cbrs decorating the legacy. It's very much like a Ganguly, Dhoni, and Kohli era who bettered from one another. I cannot forget when I sold of my Pulsar 220FI (only rode for 3 months) to get hands on this beauty and it never let me down.
If you have penchant towards quality, this machine does it so aptly without any drama!

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Sold it Buddy. About 5 months ago. Couldn't handle the expenses. I had an awesome and very expensive experience of owning a SBK. So, not going down the line again, not for at least 10 years.Originally posted by Ankey View PostAll the best for your journey sir. Very sorry to go OT but, I thought you had a 600CC beast, then how come the R15?? please forgive me if I'm wrong. Again, wishing you a safe journey.

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
I hope you're joking, buddy. The R15 is a brilliant machine, liquid cooled too. As long as you stick to cruising at 100-110, I believe the R15 can go 1000+ kms a day.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostHappy to see so many bikers taking the highway. I am going for my first long trip (Chennai - Hosur) on my R15s. Just wanted to know from fellow people here, how does the bike pan out on such long journeys. Any insight would be helpful. How often do I need to cool down the bike, 10 mins for an hour of riding ?
I recall offhand, somebody doing a saddlesore on a pulsar 150.
My dad did 650 kms from Chennai to Kerala on a 1994 Splendor, with only fuel and butt breaks. Ofcourse, you have to keep the vehicle cruising below 80% of its top speed.

Chennai Hosur is about 320 kms, so I am seeing around 5 hrs + 2-3 breaks for my tummy and butt. So 1 hour for the breaks in between, so totally I am expecting 6 hrs. Not more than that.Originally posted by Ankey View PostHow long is the journey sir. I visit my hometown every month on my bike which is about 4.5 - 5 hours away. No brakes or stops. The bike doesn't show any signs of getting tired even after 4 - 5 hours of constant riding. The engine still revs happily, the gears still engage with a click and the temperature only rises once I reach within my city limits and get stuck in traffic jams, even then the radiator fan does a perfect job.
So from my experience there is no problem till 4-5 hours. The bike needs no breaks. Members who have done more time in a single day might be able to throw light beyond the 5 hour mark.

Thanks Buddy. That gives me more confidence now...Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Post10 mins after 2-3 hours will be more than enough....
