Hi, yes break Disc pads are costly. Especially the rear. The rear disc pad is around 3.7K and the front is around 750 in Kolkata.
My bike clocked 10k+ Kms but my rear disc pads are quite ok till now. They will survive for around 1k Kms more.

Wow..when more than 75% of the breaking is done by front break what the point of such expensive rear pads which hardly have any real breaking at least on the tnt25..

Really was looking forward to upgrading trek 502 or leoncino, but After just 10k , 5 services, close to 30k on servicing and spare costs , battery issue, coolant leakage due to faulty switch ,having serious thoughts..thanks for the reply Somualya..

        Hey

Any update on the annual maintenance packages in your city. Do you think it's beneficial?

This will aid lot of people in their buying decisions

Congratulations in advance for Tnt 25.
Regarding the service costs for 1st service labour is not charged so bill would be around 2k to 2300k (may vary due to different cities), from 2nd service onwards charges are around 3k to 4k approx (may vary as per cities) and this includes Labour costs, oil costs (except for 300V grade oil which is more costly than 7100 which is used for Tnt 25), consumable charges, washing, chain cleaning and lube. If any other parts are changed like spark plugs, clutch cable, brake pads etc add these costs to the total service bill.
They have introduced new annual maintenance packages which saves some money on labour and some parts costs, i had not yet looked at it yet you can check with service center of your city for more details.

Hi Buddy please find attached copy of maintenance package for Tnt 25 (please note that cost may change as per city). I have not opted for AMC package but i think it will save some money. Only thing is that from the city which you purchase amc package you have to service from that city svc only please also check on this.

          Thanks,
          Anway Kale.

            Hi Arun,

The life of breakpad is entirely on riding style, some people finish the pads as early as 5-6k.. some last way more than 15k. I am currently at 19k with my 1st set of break pad. Will change it in next service if it is in bad condition. Service center people was telling me when I was at 8k that breakpads need to be change.. I told them to show me the pads.. it was in good condition.. n I am at 19k now. So check your pads life.. before changing.

            Regards

                    Hey buddy,
Thats a quite pocket pinching reality even i was schocked when my Tnt 25 rear brake pads got used up in just 4000 kms. Then i changed my braking style to 70 front and 30 back and more thing which caused this was my shoes they were having high sole due to which the rear brake was getting little bit pressed unknowingly. And after changing rear brake pads at 4000 kms now i am at 15000 kms and rear brake pads are still having life. So i would suggest you please checo whether unknowingly brake is getting pressed as little bit of brake lever pressing results in brake pads getting in contact with disc not in full force but slighthly which eats up the brake pads. And also observe the pads life after around 1000 kms if still they are getting in contact with discs ask the svc to open the callipers and check whether they brake pads are not getting released fully due which can be solved by greasing the calliper pins and bleeding the rear brake line.

                      Hi Anway,

Thanks, That may be a possibility as I had observed from after the second service that the breaks I could not press the break as much I used to before the service.
I did mention this to the SVC person and he suggested that it has been tightened and will be good after some amount of riding, this was the same in 3rd and 4th service
now I understand that the breaks were not properly adjusted and may have been wearing out more. I can see the difference after the replacement, the applying break is smooth and also I can feel the response from the break, By Far this has been the best service done by service guys in last 18 months, the bike is smooth, Gear shifting is
also smooth and bike feels great after this service, Bangalore Service center guys have done a good job this time servicing the bike..

Thanks for the pointers to check , I will keep a note of them a do as suggested after 1K running.

Thanks man..this is helpful. I wish they would revise their cost of spare parts also, then this would really
influence purchase decisions of lot of prospective buyers. The bike is superb...fast enough, comfortable, durable,
                        classy look.
