- Fuel screw setting on carburettor is now at maximum rich capacity. Beyond this setting, bike starts to shut-off because mixture becomes too rich.
- AF was changed already
- Spark plug is fine, I posted last time
- When it is hiccing-up, if I pull choke then hiccups stop immediately and bike starts running smooth. That means proper amount of fuel is not being supplied.
Still, the hiccups have not stopped. Only Carburettor remains to be checked. BTw, what is the difference between checking Carb vs checking Carb mixture.
Many years ago (2004 I think) I had LML Vespa and someday suddenly it started giving similar hiccups problem. I went to mechanic and he replaced the plastic-floater inside carburettor and everything was fine after. Then a month later scooter started giving hiccups again and mechanic said floater had gone bad and replaced it again. This time I gave it a thought that what has happened in last 2 months that 2 floaters are gone and the only different thing I was doing was: I replaced usual Petrol with HP Power Petrol and I told this to mechanic and then told me me that people using HP Power in their scooters have this hiccups problem and he has replaced 5 such floaters in last 2 weeks in different scooters using HP Power. I went back to usual Petrol and never again got hiccups. Currently I am using HP Power too in my bike and I think it could be the reason, not sure though because it's a bike, not scooter and it is 2018, not 2004. There's no difference AFAIK. It's all perspective. Maybe Carb cleaning or checking would help somewhat and seeing if there's any issues with the jet, orifice or even the float. Also, HP Power gives good mileage in my bike. It deals with two versions - one is "K-tec" engine with removable oil filter and "CT" engine with rotor filter. The specs for Boxer CT 100 match our CT100, I think, you can confirm.
For CT100, they mention clearances of - Intake 0.05 mm and exhaust 0.1 mm.

Though regarding minor hickup's while riding at steady speeds, I've been facing the same for a while now and recently my motorcycle did a shimmy so had replaced my chain and sprockets yesterday which resolved the issue, the hickup's were due to a messed up chain and sprocket kit, and mine was missing a couple of nuts and bolts which was something I'd expected to happen due to riding style.
Here are pictures of missing bolts and nuts;
Here's a snap of the front sprocket cover, if you look close you can find a rear sprocket nut stuck to the debris, there's also a rear sprocket lock in there, its so deformed that you can hardly recognize it;

25,000 km's Update!
After a little over a year and 25k km's the tires had to be changed as today I'd experienced a crazy rear slide while negotiating a sharp turn, as the tires were changed at the nearest tire shop I could find, I had to cancel the Timsun's I'd ordered and had settled with the following;
Front: Apollo ActiZip F2 80/100-17 (Pulsar size, Stock is 2.75-17)
Rear: Apollo ActiGrip R1 3.00-17
The front tire is a TL used with a Tube as they didn't have the stock size in stock and I was left without any other options.
Total amount charged was 3350/- they didn't charge me for the new Brazza tube which had to be extra as the front tire was a TL model hence didn't come bundled with the tube like the rear tire.

The front tire shows uneven wear on one side, the bearing seems to be fine as there's no lateral play.
I'm considering uneven suspension, have already procured all spares for a front end overhaul.

I know its been a while, so here's an update!
She's at the 29,000 km's mark now after an errand run to Madurai and back.
And this time I had the company of my friends Splendor Plus, though you've heard me speak wonders about the Splendor it is definitely not suited for the highways in spite of its better motorcycle feel, its square stroke mill which is its advantage has an Achilles heel, and that's its top end, when the CT100B keeps gaining speed on its own the Splendor consistently maintains its stand at 70 Kmph when ridden 2 up.
But then the CT100B ain't no winner as with a sizable pillion the front end starts to lift off the ground when accelerating hard, an issue I wasn't aware of as I predominantly ride solo.
The lack of side panels is quite evident as even with regular fiddling the saddle bag tends to droop down to one side. On the return leg we enforced the saddlebag with bungee chords and that setup held well.
Not sure whether its the underweight motorcycle or the overweight me, either way I'm still Single, hence decided to let potential interests know by snapping a picture at Singilipatti.
Overall the ride was a relief, I also did manage to get my friend hooked into the low displacement lifestyle and we're in talks about riding to a Mystical Temple in Kozhikode the following month, fingers crossed!
After the ride and 200 km's over my usual change interval of 2k km's I went for a bottle of Castrol Activ 20W50 which I'd procured for Rs.320/-(MRP. 345/-, bought at the discounted price from Ex-Jawan's Oil Shop, Trivandrum), though not as rev-friendly as the more expensive Castrol Power 1, the Activ did hold its own when it came to smoothness, if the performance holds good until the next oil change then I'll go for a bulk order to avail even better discounts.
So off I run into the paddy fields!

The main pointer to note is that on the spec sheet posted earlier there is a slight correction, which I've made below.

The intake valve clearance is 0.07mm not 0.7mm.

You know the general saying among bikers;
"If your Helmet is cheaper than your Cellphone, then you have your priorities wrong!"
Though on a serious note, everything in my artillery with the exception of the SPG Ares gloves are showing their age even the Bell for that matter which is barely 2 years old, as the GQ Run had a radical toll on them.
Once I overcome the unemployment crisis that has been plaguing me for a while I wish to upgrade to safer options as I hear higher rated helmets and gears are available at more attractive prices due to more options being introduced in the market.

What are your views on upgrading rim to 18 or 19 inches? Also I'm planning a trip to Lucknow via MP from Mumbai, which is about 1400 Kms. Since you've done many Kms and long rides, can you give me tips on spares I should carry? I wish to go minimalistic, just saying.

Motorcycle crossed over the 30k milestone a while ago, before her 2nd Birthday that would be up in a few months;
Replaced the Airfilter, Sparkplug and Fuel line which cost an accumulated Rs.180/-
A lot of intra-city commuting is why I guess the reading looks rich, anyhow I'm against messing with the carburetor without good cause, so that's that.
Almost all my spokes were loose so had got both my rims trued today, cost Rs. 350/- for both rims, if memory is right this is the highest 'Service' charge incurred for the motorcycle to date due to my lack of hardware and knowledge about truing rim's.
First time I'm taking both wheels off at the same time, thought I'd face issues but was surprised when things turned out better than expected, motorcycle rested on the chain guard and exhaust without any issues while I'd take the rims to get trued.
And I'd about 500 km's ago scrapped the Snorkel, motorcycle is louder which is what was expected as going unnoticed when overtaking and having to honk like crazy to not be side-swiped was wearing me down quite a bit.
I get the feeling that my forks would go out soon, not that they're leaking but I'm getting one of those gut feelings, luckily I had sourced consumables a long time back including fork nut holder, so I'm going to let them run their course and replace at the first sign of seepage.
Keep the rims stock, today while getting the rims trued the guy at the shop was telling me how hard it was to source spokes and nipples for non-stock sizes. You'd have nothing to worry about as long as you have enough consumable life left for the ride and are sure you have lubed the chain and have enough brakes and tires left for the ride at hand.
As a preventive measure carry a Auto/Vespa clutch cable inner and lock in your tool box, it can be used as a clutch cable or a front brake cable on the CT100B in the event of an emergency.
As for luggage, keep your back free, mount all luggage on the motorcycle, I use spider bungee chords available for Rs.90/- cheap and gets the job done, just ensure you have good quality ones, I judge quality by inspecting the quality of metal used to bind the chord at the ends.
And if you've noticed I have installed Grab-Handles on both suspension mounts, makes mounting luggage on the motorcycle comparatively easy as there's no need to plan for an adequate mount point, irrespective of the size of luggage hauled.
Maintain decent Tire Pressure, with the current tire setup I prefer to keep 26:28 PSI in favor of better braking.
Finally, Invest in reflective tape, can be a lifesaver in the dark!
That's all I guess there is for you to take care of, now all that's left is to ride!

Thanks for your inputs on rim size. Regarding luggage: last year when touring in rajasthan on RE, I used bungee cords to tie the bags behind. It was pain the back and easily took 20 mins. So this time I'm going to invest in good saddle bags, only thing that I would have to put a saree guard on the other side too.
Regarding spares: I think I need not worry much about them then. I'll go really minimalistic.
My luggage would carry mainly clothes and toiletries, weight should top at 5 kgs max. So do you think I would be able to cruise at 80 on MP roads?
I would be greatful (alia Bhatt joke attempt) if you could share your experiences of MP roads and traffic. Thanks.
