I have a 2018 one.it had the engine oil and coolant mixing issue within 12k kms.got the seal replaced under warranty.cant comment whether the bs6 engine will be any different, considering the fact that the engine almost remains the same.
It stalls sometimes.then there is an issue of engine warning message showing ecu failure irregularly after long intervals....rattle from headlights which was fixed, etc etc
Would you like to say what led to you swapping the engine.?
And what other major issues you had faced?

Hi guys,ex -390 owner here..I used to have the Duke about five years ago and had to sell it due to personal reasons. Can anyone tell me if the reliability factor has increased wrt engine/components.? My duke had the coolant-engine oil mixing issue for which we were able to swap the engine for a new one under warranty after a lengthy fight. Does the 390 still have any such incidents reported off late? I'm planning to get the bs6 version(still love the power, hate the services) but not sure about the situation with quality control.

Chain cleaner, use kerosene or WD40. For Lube use Wurth Chain Lube, the best out there. If you get your hands on ROLON chain lube, that's an underdog. Motul cleaner is good, lube is nonsense.

Giving out white smoke at full revs after warmed up engine, it's time to look at valve steam seals. Not to confuse with water vapor which in fact will come early mornings. But, if you observe white smoke with thick oily smell even after engine warmed up, then you may have a leaking valve steam seal.

    Cheers!

Yes bro I don't go by odo alone because it's never accurate. I have done the math on whole trip. Odo is just for reference.

But here is the thing I got topbox recently and Zana toprack is sluggish so I dropped my crusing speed to 90-100. I got 2.9 lit per 100 kms so I got about 34 kmpl which is with normal fuel. [emoji6]

It was my ride to ibw and Gokarna about 2100kms.

I ride sanely, rarely do I rip.. what do the others get?
Ha ha !, Even i too think of that. But definitly the v-power gives atleast 3 to 4 kms extra than the regular fuels. And also if i rip the bike , it drops below 28. Try shell with speeds between 80 and 90. you will get it too.

That's a lot of damage for fork seal repair! I plan on owning a litre class bike but after looking at the spares price and other expenses, i am better without it

So, the cheapest here is the Bajaj fork oil which costs 220 rupees per 480 ML can. If you are okay spending the extra for LiquiMoly or Motul, I'd suggest go for that, if not, stick to Bajaj fork oil. I use 450 ML. Too much, too much stiffness, a wee bit lesser oil would mean, the shocks are a little compliant and don't bust the seals.
