I removed everything to access throttle body till the airbox. Then i really couldnt figure out how many bolts hold the airbox, and i thought it was really getting complicated and i gave up. Can someone guide me further or direct me to some video or guide ( I searched a lot in youtube almost all was on older d390 and the rest not explaining properly).
I found one bolt next the rear shock which holds the airbox but i think i had to remove the footpegs to access that and then i stopped it. Given the lockdown and nothing much to do, I am planning to go at it again and it would be great if someone could guide me properly so that i don't mess things up.

Air box bolts aren't complicated but if you take a little time to observe, it can be easy, unless there are hidden bolts. Start off by loosening the throttle body to air filter manifold flange clamps, and then work your way around the air box. It would require some wiggling, but make sure you're careful in doing so. That's the best motivation I can give you here. I will let you know if I find any YouTube videos regarding the same.

    Cheers!

Eshan, you are right, spending half the value of the bike on an aftermarket exhaust would be no brainer. The closest bet is IXIL and other Malaysian knock offs. Being a slip on, you are basically partially de-catting without the trouble of replacing the whole exhaust. I think IXIL should be a fit and other aftermarket pipes with a similar exhaust pipe diameter as the current gen should be a fit. I've ridden an old Duke 390 with IXIL exhaust and it's a hoot on the highways. I'd suggest you try to start it off from there. That's all I can think of now.

No doubt it's good in look but after that when you use the bike or ride it then you yourself will get bored because at the beginning you will feel it's nice to ride then afterwards you will feel like other bikes were good now i also feel that i should sell the big and buy a new one

It's mileage is lower than that of um bikes, dsk benelii, etc. At the end i would tell. You that don't buy the bike for look or racing. If you are good racer then its good for you

    Thank you

and do check here there is an amazing article waiting for you and it will help you as it helped me alot.

Thank you. I wanted to clear my head on the actual map they offered.
Besides, I really think it's foolish to push 390 for more power, at least with stock internals.
My bike is around 20000 kms and still runs good as new.

The immediate effect you feel is when you start owning the bike a couple of days and wring the neck. Though the throttle to power transition difference is not by any means great, when compared to stock, at some RPMs the stock has way greater push than the PT, but the way the engine pumps all those horses when wringed open and the way the horses are tamed at B2B traffic is truly a marvel, this is where PT shines. It's a basically a tuned richer map at different RPMs making life better. Is it worth it? Definitely yes, and would I recommend it for everyone? Well, that's where the proof of the pudding is, if you want to extend your engine life and help the engine live a cooler life, yes. If you're okay with what the stock has to offer, then don't bother.

    Hope it helps!

I spoke to the person who posted the Amazon review of his engine blowing up because of water intrusion to the wiring of PT. It was a one off case caused by a missing seal in wiring kit.
All other reviews I have read have been on the positive side.
D390 itself has plenty of power and I don't intend it push it any more from the already stressed engine.
However, as far as I can see PT normal map seems to reduce the engine vibrations to a great extend, which I believe is due the correction of AFR which is said to be lean for D390 from the factory for lower RPMs for passing emmisson norms.
This correction of AFR, is only going to increase the engine reliability and life logically.
What is everyone's view on this?

Just get a battery tender from amazon... problem solved. Best one I've used is Deltran battery tender plus or Deltran battery tender junior.

Was not using my bike for around 2 weeks due to quarantine. Was a bit skeptical with the battery as early this month had issue while starting it up one time where the bike failed to start 2 times and I had "ECU Failure" displayed on the display, I turned it off completely and tried, it started. So today I just wanted to warm the engine but the bike wont start now. All I can hear is fuel pump and knocking noise of the starter I guess, is this battery issue? or anything I can do sitting at home to fire the engine up?

    Thanks,
    Aswin
Perform a load test, if the battery doesn't hold current under load change the battery under warranty of get it replaced at cost.

Unfortunately, yes it happens to the best of us. If you have a car, its battery can at least help jump start the bike. Discretion adviced and do it at own risk. But, definitely feasible.

It's a good practice to start the bike every 5 days, let it idle for 10 mins with occasionally revving to 6k. This makes sure the batt remains charged and fuel isn't stagnating.
