Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
From what I've been told, the forks are the same for the faired and the nakeds, it's only the rake angle that's changed in the faired one. Now, if that's to be taken into account, then in all probability, the APEX PRO should for the naked counterpart.Originally posted by JN8304 View PostThanks VJ and Iceman!!
I have another query on forks and shocks - according to WP website, WP Apex Pro fits RC390. Can the same products be used on D390?
Showroom folks directed me to KTM Service Head and the gentleman is yet to respond to my query.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks!!
But still, I'd like to get a solid confirmation regarding the same, because sometimes not all the information you get is the justified.
Hope it helps.
Cheers!

It can be a one off thing. But, it's pretty much a solid unit.. You can call them up they'll help you with all the details.Originally posted by abhiiceman View PostRead in Amazon.in, that the ecu is prone to water issue after washing and caused engine issues.

Read in Amazon.in, that the ecu is prone to water issue after washing and caused engine issues.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostWithout a doubt, yes. It will void the engine warranty, as long as you're under warranty. But, AFAIK, the PECU hasn't caused any engine problem.

Yes, the low end jitteriness is almost nil, plus the maps allow you to switch between available maps. Secondly, Powertronic also has QS for the D390 which is a plus, all this a quite expensive but really transforms the bike.Originally posted by abhiiceman View PostDoes the powertronic remove the jerky nature of the duke? I'm considering other bikes just for this main reason and also the super hard suspensions. I test ride re650, himalayan and ninja 300 but nothing comes close to this d390 in terms of performance but changing the bike within 3yrs is simply not worth it..
You can call those guys up or mail them, they're a helpful bunch.

Most maps are fixed from factory and KTM doesn't have any maps as such as an update. This is why Powertronic, power commander and others gain an upper edge, not only for Duke, but also superbikes.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Will WP Apex Pro 6543 (front fork) and WP Apex Pro 6746 (rear shock) fit D390, 2019 model?
Link to the above products-
WP develops high-performance motorcycle suspension and components. With its focus on INNOVATION and PERFORMANCE, WP gives riders a dynamic edge to take their riding to their highest personal level of performance. Continued investment in new technologies and research also ensure both racers and ambitious leisure riders maintain an edge over the competition.
Now the above products fits RC390 per WP website and I am assuming that it should D390 too.

The low end jitteriness that you feel is present with all Dukes. The old ones were even more temperamentalOriginally posted by vkuchhal View PostHi all,
I have a 2017 duke 390. It has done 6000kms. But i feel that the jerky factor below 4500 rpm in 1st and 2 nd gear is quite bad.
May be for a reason I am comparing it to my ninja 250 throttle and power delivery which is smooth.
My question is can we change the mapping to smooth the things out? Please help.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
That's great, glad it worked out for you. Secondly, it can also be due to busted fork bearings. If your handlebar is grabby or is tight at a point, you have a busted coneset. This tightness can be felt better when the bike is lifted and handlebar rotated left and right.Originally posted by aswin_93 View PostYep Thanks Mann, reslacking worked (hopefully
). I just did about 1000 kms in last 4 days and is looking good.
Also lately I am feeling a bit of tightness in the handlebar. Somewhere I feel the balance is not proper while riding. Could this be due to fork/fork oil issues? My bike is about 1.3 years old and done about 19k Kms.
Thanks,
Aswin
Easy method is to put the bike in side stand, pull the vehicle towards you, let the front wheel lift, and try turning the bar left and right slowly, if you have a grabby or the handle bar biting during motion then you have to replace the bearings. Or you can get it checked with a local mechanic for free.
If you haven't replaced the fork oil in a long time, it's better to replace them along with fork bearings.
Cheers!
