That is negligible, as long as the bike was safe and sound.Originally posted by Gowdaman View PostI booked in mettupalayam bro. They said the bine came from trichy to coimbatore showroom..and they drove the bike from coimbatore to mettupalayam...odo has clocked 27kms.
The purpose of the radiator fan is to cool the fluid in the radiator when the bike is not in motion or too less air flow is provided to the radiator. In such cases, the radiator fan may come on for lesser than one to two mins and turn off by itself. If the fan is not switching off, there can be two reasons, one is too low radiator fluid in the bike, and secondly you have a faulty fan relay/coolant temperature sensor. The fan relay is what tells the fan to turn off and switch on depending on the signal it receives from the ECM. A faulty relay would mean, once the fan is on, it won't switch off and the fan will be continuously on, unless the ignition is turned off. Also, being a new bike, the will tend to heat up more than normal, so the fan can sometimes stay longer.Originally posted by Gowdaman View PostAnd also guys why the radiator fan never stops after a ride when the bike is in Neutral. I waited for almost 10mins after reaching home, but the fan never stopped.
Too low radiator fluid too can cause the same issue and throw "High Coolant Temperature" warning on your dashboard. So, make sure your radiator coolant is filled up properly, and keep track of the radiator fan working and switching off. If it's switching on and switching off normally, you're okay, but if your fan only switches on and doesn't turn off for a long period of time, either your relay or coolant temperature sensor is faulty, get them checked
Cheers!

Get the radiator relay checked, faced similar issue 5 years back on my 200.
Thanks

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
There is not need to wait for the fan to stop, you can switch off the bike whenever you want. In fact when you are standstill there womt be any air flow to cool the engine hence the fans switch on, but when you are riding with no traffic then there will be constant airflow which cools the engine. Hence in highways at cruising speeds fan wont turn on.Originally posted by Gowdaman View PostAnd also guys why the radiator fan never stops after a ride when the bike is in Neutral. The only way to cool the engine when standstill is just switch off the engine, if it's on then the temp wont come down and the fan has to switch on to cool it.

Ya, the noise is there only at slow speeds. Will get the rear pads replaced and also the sound checked by making the service centre guy ride it and check it.Originally posted by s1d View Postreplace the rear brake pads , the front ones have plenty of life left in them. yes, the oem rear pads cost around 200.. they are the same as the ones from p220/cbr250. get the oem from svc and you are good to go.
as for troubleshooting sounds, it is difficult to pin point the cause without riding the bike/hearing it. you could maybe check the front sprocket for excessive wear(i.e. the teeth would be worn/pointed and hooked i.e. bent).. this is known to cause a khat khat noise, especially at slow speeds.

You should get the bike from that another showroom, for complete peace of mind [emoji106]Originally posted by Gowdaman View PostGuys I booked duke 390 14 days back. By the way are we still able to pin point the sound coming from the rear side of the bike, mostly from under the seat.
Is it 100 percent due to the chain getting loose or is it something else.
In between someone has posted about the rear shock absorber being the culprit. Every time I take it the service center they will tighten the chain and the sound will be gone for few days and after some days it starts again.

The fact that your rear is worn sooner can be due to pads constantly rubbing the rotor and also you unknowingly resting your foot on the brake pedal which would mean it's mildly engaged all the time, leading to accelerated wear. Your front pads are the sintered ones so don't bother replacing it, and you have decent pad material left for lot of KMs to come.

Also will inquire if they have started rolling out the TFT Software update for the 2018 models for updated UI on the TFT Screen. I hope it has come.
Would be nice to have all the small issues like the clock becoming slow after somedays issue ironed out.
Thank you

Something vry surprising has popped up now. I took the pics of the front brakes pads and it seems like they are still the same. As the front brake pads are sintered ones, do the rate of degradation for them is lower compared to the normal OE ones at the rear.
Please take a look at the pics. It seems like I don't use the front brakes at all which is not the case. Also I have never replaced the front brake pads till date.
Cheers!

Yes the front wears lesser compared to the rear. My bike is 20k old and I have replaced the rear twice and now they are completely worn out need to replace asap but I have changed the front only once at around 14k kms something and they are still good for another year or so.Originally posted by sujithbvm View PostYa, for now I have stopped using the rear disks as much as possible till i replace the pads. May be unknowingly I m pressing my leg very lightly on the rear brake lever. Will keep an eye out for this.
Any idea how much do they cost. I had read on this forum only that they are approximately around 300 rs, though I am not sure.
Thank you.

Again brake wear depends on how you use it, some people have a tendency to rest their foot very lightly on the rear brake foot rest and brake lever, even a light pressure is sensitive enough to have the rear brake engaged by 5-10% always.
Try to not rest the toe on your rear brake lever.
P.S. Thanks for the location of the puncture place.

If yours is post 2016 and the newer one with TFT, then don't bother, your bike already has the newer sintered pads on the front. For the rear, get the OE one that's best. Make sure your bleed your rear brake before installing the new pads. Also, get your brake pedal free play adjusted if you're constantly and unknowingly always on the rear pedal.
Good luck.
Cheers!
