As far as i know , if connected to battery directly , your usb will always work irrespective of bike key is truned on or not....with accessories port it works with only key onOriginally posted by roy_libran View Post

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Directly connecting it to the battery won't cause any trouble per se. The only drawback would be the accessory will have leech some minuscule amount of charge from the battery, since it's live. It's always better to either go for charger that has an in-built switch and or install a switch ourselves. This way, it helps reduce load on the battery. Apart from that, an in-inline fuse is recommended if connected directly from battery, just in case. I personally have connected it to the battery with a switch and so far so good.Originally posted by roy_libran View PostGuys - Is it better to connect the charger wire with the round battery pins directly to the battery, or to the accessories port? I mean, what are the pros and cons?
Make sure the charger wiring is routed neatly, and the charger wires positively fixed to the battery terminals and are a tight. A loose, and crappily routed charger wire can cause a short or worse melt blow a fuse if they touch the body. A neatly done job means, trouble free charging experience.
Fixing it to the accessories port would mean the bike automatically turns the charger on and off with the ignition, which is safe and it's also backed by a fuse inside the fuse box. The safest method.
Cheers!

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am getting a near constant mileage of 28-30 kmpl from my duke. My office is 37 kms both ways. Entire way is wide highway where I keep it around 80-90 mostly. I fill Rs 550 petrol each week. Fuel cost hovers near 70-71 per lit mark.
Overall I think mileage is decent.

It can even return till 35kmpl with light throttle at speed between 100 to 120 but in normal city use it drops to as low as 18 and avg in city with light throttle you can get is 22.Originally posted by JN8304 View Post^^^ thank you for your feedback, it answered questions and cleared confusion that was in my head!! It depends on your riding style as well. For reference my previous r15 used to return 45 kmpl or so.Originally posted by JN8304 View Post^^^ thank you for your feedback, it answered questions and cleared confusion that was in my head!! I say don't buy duke for mileage.
If you by any chance harbor a dream of owning a superbike some day, just give up on your dream and get the duke390. There is a power reserve I am yet to explore even after 4 months of ownership. Its properly scary. It also looks the part in my opinion.

My last bike was D390 2015 model, had to sell it since I was relocating. I’ve been using a scooter for a little over 2 years but wish to get back on motorcycles. I was looking for some real time and real world mileage data of the new model to ascertain the ownership cost.
If Ninja 650 is categorised as a super bike then I did harbor the dream of owning one and my dream came true in 2014, I also got married the same year. When wife happens then bikes don’t matter. I still harbor a dream of owing a N1000, KTM 1050 Adventure, a Jawa (models between 65-69), Yezdi 250 (72- 78), list is end less. But for now I wish to return from where I left off.
Thanks for your inputs, shall keep in my mind.

Ah ok. Should ve mentioned in original post. When ever someone asks mileage of duke, I tell them not to get it. N650 definitely is superbike in my books.Originally posted by JN8304 View PostMy last bike was D390 2015 model, had to sell it since I was relocating. Exactly the same thing I've told to anyone who asks me about the mileage of the KTMs in city conditions, recommended against it for any college going kid who has to pay for fuel from parents pockets.Originally posted by VaibhavPisal View PostWhen ever someone asks mileage of duke, I tell them not to get it.
KTMs are kind of fill it and shut it forget kind of bikes, one should not draw comparisons with CL350 a 350cc bike giving 40+kmpl mileage, and someone who is critical about mileage about should look else where.Bajaj SuperFE 150 - Forever in my heart

Hi Guys,
From past few days I am feeling strong vibes from the footpegs and gear/brake lever. It starts from around 3k RPM itself, any ideas? I have around 9k Kms on the odo.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
That's a long way to leave an oil unchanged for a temperamental engine that we have on our Dukes. Ideal replacement schedule should be around the 2.5 to 3k mark max. Replace your engine oil and oil filter, your vibes should be contained.Originally posted by aswin_93 View PostThanks for the reply VJ! I have done about 9000kms now. Is'nt 2.5-3k change interval too short for full synthetic oil ?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostThat's a long way to leave an oil unchanged for a temperamental engine that we have on our Dukes.
