Thank you but I see that Goldrunway 40W are too expensive for me . I ll see if I can get RC model's projectors. They look really cool

      Hello guys,

My duke (2017-390) is having severe handle vibration, all the screw fit seems fine! Any idea how to resolve it ? Also some tapping noise is coming from rear side I believe it is the chain noise tried tightening it multiple time but still same sound is coming.

I have been facing some issues lately on my 2017 duke 390. Please let me know if someone else has faced them or can help me solve them.

        1. After cold start, after about 15-20 sec, the bike automatically revs to 4000-5000 rpm and then calms down. This has started recently from 10-15 days. I went to SVC. They updated the software and told me that as per new guidelines, once the software is updated we need to disconnect battery and let the bike stay for 10-15 mins.
Did the same and the issue did not reproduce at that time. But it started again from next day. I am not sure if this is a sensor issue or something else.

        2. Even after replacing the headlamp fixtures ( spring etc replaced during monsoon updates last year) twice, the headlamp again has started moving. This creates a buzzing noise on the run. Not sure why this happens.

        3. There is kat-kat noise coming somewhere from the back. This is more prominent when the bike goes over the pot holes. The SVC guys told that this is chain noise and the lower part of the chain gets struck with the metal part above it. But i am not sure.. I checked and there is no other loose part. (I even packed the toolkit).

Can any body please guide me if they had some solution to these?

        Regards,
        J
Even I am facing that rear noise problem, were l you able to fix that ?

Here's hoping ktm implements what hero has done with xpulse line up and give turn by turn navigation. Will make good use of the tft.

Though am worried about bugs, reason why I still haven't installed their app and connected via Bluetooth. After reports that pairing with Android devices can make it buggy.

It's not buggy, but if you have a OnePlus device it simply refuses to work. My HTC and Motorola worked fine.

Issue is with OnePlus phones which have agressive killing of background process, sometimes it might help to lock the Ktm connect app in the recent apps..

For almost 1 and half years with my OnePlus 3 it never worked for more than few minutes, but now with my S10 it works flawlessly.

You can give the app permission to run in the background, it's that certain things don't work. You get a call, it displays on the TFT but you can't pick it from the handlebar and that's a problem, need to take the gloves off to pick up a call.

Start off by inspecting your tool kit. A loose tool kit will jingle around, and has been reported by many users. A slacked toolkit reduces the sound, that's one. Too dirty a chain coupled with loose slack will induce slapping sound. It's imperative to get the chain cleaned thoroughly and then the chain lubed. Thirdly, check your exhaust shield bolts. When was your engine oil last replaced, and what is the interval you drain your engine oil at?

                  Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Have you recently removed your handguards? Also, are the factory handlebar-end weights in place?

You might want to have a look at your engine mount bolts to check if they've loosened.

                      Hi All,
I got my bike on 2nd May its the 2019 model and comes with latest version of software 1V08
I have seen so many delivery videos so far and even in XBHP no one has shown new UI.
The major change is the UI instead of bluish background its flat black and white colors very subtle and rev meter if orange instead of blue.

Also you can no longer turn off the ABS its either Supermoto or Road

                      Background
                      1. My bike has weird vibrations in right footpeg especially in around 4000-5000 rpm and its very unbearable and slight vibrations in left footpeg in lower rpm range below 4000 rpm
                      2. There's lot of vibrations in the handle bar throughout the rev range upto 6500 rpm and front suspension is very hard I can feel a one rupee coin on the road.

For me it didn't felt normal as I can recall the test ride bikes from two different showrooms none of them had vibrations in handle bar one test ride bike had severe vibrations in footpegs but showroom person said new bike will be smooth. I even rode around 60-70 kmph during test ride and it was very normal and minimal vibrations as far as I can recall. I went to service center they did tweaked it bit but I can't feel major differences and I also asked them can I use as is till first service they said its fine.
I also checked things like chain slack and did standard PDI mentioned in XBHP,

                      Question
Does the bike is supposed to have vibrations (specifically in handle bar) ? or am I overthinking it ? If it can be fixed what are the things I should ask SVC to check.

                      Regards,
                      Mohan

Hi DMK, hope you don't mind the hypocorism. Welcome to the KTM boards, thank you for posting the pictures of the dash and the version number. I see, KTM has done a significant change to their TFT console with which I presume they should have ironed out the stream of update they have been releasing out to patch the earlier console. Could you do us a favor by making sure each and every aspect of the TFT is put to use and then a report provided here, especially the bluetooth and connectivity aspect of it, would definitely be a sigh of relief for potential owners.

Secondly, vibes are part and parcel of KTM and especially during the running in period. The vibes aren't isolated to one portion of the motorcycle, they can and will come at a different points during the running in period. Give it some time, make sure your oil replacement schedule is followed as per recommendation, and don't baby the motorcycle, make sure she's given the taste of high speed and rev, frequently.

Also try not to use Motul 300V under any circumstances. You're better of with Motul 7100 in case you consider Motul.

                        Cheers!

New dashboard UI looks cool and as a software developer myself, I can say that they are following flat ui design trend. I hope this is even updated on 2017/18 models.

With 2018 model of mine, I am unable to see incoming call notifications on tft. I have tried both Redmi Note 7 Pro & OnePlus 5....and yeah I turned off battery optimization for my ride connect app. This is weird...i ll write an email to KTM regarding this.

And even with the latest software version...my bike's time is running fast by 20 minutes after about 2 weeks. ....

                            HI,
I tried avoiding being called DMK especially when I moved to Chennai but I guess there's no getting away with it .
I was curious about vibrations because the test ride bike had very less vibrations I was wondering if its just the new engine which you have confirmed. Anyways I'm following running-in guide which is posted in forum.

As far as TFT goes , its breath taking especially in night with black and orange functionality wise it has worked flawlessly so far.
                            Regards,
                            Mohan

                            Hi,
I think you can get the new software too but weird thing is even service center guys were surprised to see my new UI. So far I had no issues with phone ( I use iPhone) but only annoying thing is that everytime I connect the phone and playing songs I have change airplay settings in my phone to push audio through headphones and I can't talk on my phone as the phone thinks the KTM motorcycle is the mic not sure how to get around it, will check with SVC and update.
As far as time issues I have been using the bike for almost 5 days now so far it hasn't moved forward or backward even by a minute so far but I will keep an eye on it and update if there's any change.
                            Regards,

Does that mean even the 2017 bikes will get this software update and the UI will be changed? Or one needs to have the 2019 speedo assemble aswell to get the new UI?

I am guessing old consoles will run on older UI software version branch compared to the new console version.

I also checked things like chain slack and did standard PDI mentioned in XBHP,

                                Question
Does the bike is supposed to have vibrations (specifically in handle bar) ? or am I overthinking it ? If it can be fixed what are the things I should ask SVC to check.

                                Regards,
                                Mohan
Hi , Can you try using KTM My ride navigation app with your bike (not free KTM my ride connect). This is 600 INR but can easily be found on internet as apk, If you cant find one, tell me your email, I ll share you the apk.

With 2018 model, I cant use my ride navigation app. May be we have to get the software support for it in the Bike.
