Took the bike to sainikpuri svc and got the work done. I was the first customer and hence got it completed in one hour flat excluding water wash. They did good work and checked thoroughly. However they don't stock many accessories apart from the consumables. They asked me to visit their begumpet centre for tft update, mirrors, brackets for headlights and ecu. Need to go there now

Also the rear break feels wooden in checking - pads are worn out. Even after replacement there is not much improvement anyways. Bike feels good now after the service.

Need suggestion on good visor to protect from wind blast. Anyone using G-roller? Need inputs if its a worthy investment?
How do i install a bit loud horn and flood lights for highway use? Anyone done these mods?
Yeh, head to begumpet for major services/updates. Lucky we have quite a few ktm svc's around.
Take the brake pads out and scrub them with some sand paper and put em back. How many km has the bike done, that the pads were worn ?? I've ridden a few ktm's and never felt the brakes lacking.. the rear might need some time to bed in.. maybe a cpl 100km and should be fine. You should mostly be using the front, with the rear a bit to balance it out. And don't rest your foot on the brake pedal, it might cause the pads to rub excessively on the rotor and wear out quicker.
And practice man, practice on an empty road and adapt/improve your braking capabilities over time.
Just so you know, am at 33k km on my D200 and still on stock rear brake pads.. and so a few 390 owners i know too.

Hi s1d like i mentioned earlier, mine is a preowned bike. First owner has put in 6200kms on it and thats the age of the brake pads. Changed them in the service. Coming from an fz, even I have the habit of using front:rear 80:20. Just that its my expectations out of a powerful bike that rear brakes would be pretty strong but thats not the case. Will take it to begumpet and get the remaining work done. How are stocm mirrors? Or should i go for apache mirrors as someone mentioned? Any insights sid?

                  Hello guys,

I am Amey Pednekar, from Bangalore. Been a proud owner of the Duke 390 for exactly a year now and have covered approx 14500kms. Fortunately, haven't had any issues with the bike and the only money I have spent on is maintenance, front brake pad and rear tyre replacement. However, there is one thing I have noticed quite a lot and that is the headlamps, although strong and beautiful to look at, are absolutely a waste.

Ideally, I would want the low beam to be directed at the road and the high beam straight, parallel to the road to help in long range visibility. But the Duke's low beam is parallel to the road and the high beam seems to light up the skies. For all their brightness, they do shit in lighting up the road and its almost impossible to see anything. I have even attached an image for reference, wherein you can see how there's barely any light hitting the ground.

Any of you guys feel the same? And is there any way to adjust the angle of throw of these headlights?

Any idea where is KTM warehouse for Mumbai? One is in Bhiwandi which I know, but there is another one at Kondgaon/Koangaon something?

I feel the same as you. Not fully efficient in lighting the road especially if there is incoming traffic with high beams.
I think there should be a provision to adjust the headlight, every bike would have it generally. Even i am yet to take it to svc for the adjustment. Try talking to your mechanic for adjusting the headlight.

Hi Amey, the headlight can be adjusted. The process is given in owners manual under the electrical section. Sorry can't attach the screen shots due to some error.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                                Hello,

I recently got my bike software upgraded and also changed the bracket (Not sure what's that) as a part of Monsoon update. I feel my bike to be lot smoother and vibes originating from headlight section are apparently gone at rpm below 4k. Can anyone confirm if they experience something similar ?

                                Thanks
