Is this OK or is there some manufacturing defect?
I guess, it can perhaps be manufacturing defect. Vehicle pulling towards one side, can be due to multitude of reasons, front worn tire to worn T stem bearings to tight or loose stalk, fork misalignment, fork bend, T stem bend etc. In your case, kudos to you for making a good comparo of your forks, one of your fork seems to be settled down or the slider is sort of caved in which will make the fork's alignment go out of toss and will pull to one side when braking or when taking your hands off. Get it rectified from TVS and if you're under warranty -- extended warranty will come in handy. But it seems like a manufacturing defect to me, nonetheless make sure the fork oil seals aren't leaking on any given fork. A leaky fork or a fork that's completely out of fork oil will have improper damping characteristics and it will negatively affect the handling.

    Get it checked at SVC.

    Good luck.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    • 4.5 Years Ownership Update :

I was not with my bike for approximately 2 years. However, it was being taken care by a friend who regularly used it and serviced it from the TVS Svc in Bangalore. He covered 14000kms in less than 1 year of handing it over to him. However, once I was back to Bangalore and rode the bike, i felt heavy vibrations to a point where I felt the motorcycle was unrideable. The bike was vibrating like a tractor, literally. I was confused if anything went severely wrong, but then there was no overheating nor drop in mileage/performance.

I planned a few things which I thought could be the reason :
      1. Engine oil (Maybe it was low and done)
      2. Chain Sprockets (The vibes were present even at Idle, but I planned to change it anyway)

I changed the engine oil and it made absolutely no difference at all. The bike was on Shell Advanced Racing 15w50 FS oil. Switched over to Motul 7100 FS. Bought the chain sprocket set of the BMW G310R (16-40) instead of the 17-42 of the stock. The difference is almost next to nothing.

The vibes were present even then (expected). I thought it was happening because I have the race kit installed on my bike (Aggressive handlebar position which made you place more weight on your arms along with milled footpegs with no rubbers). Took the bike to the svc and they claimed a lot of things without any proper reasoning and it was really funny. They told me that they would need to change a lot of things including cams and finger followers, piston rings etc (felt like they had no idea what could be the issue, so lets replace engine parts and check). Problem now is that, the service managers have moved on to different roles and new people are hard to get hold of.

Took the bike to a known expert who handle race bikes from various manufactures including sbks. They checked the bike and informed me in 3 hours that there was nothing wrong and the engine mounting bolts were not tightened to the correct torque rating which should have been checked in the general service. The torqued the bolts, the vibes were gone. The bike felt smooth as I remembered it to be. But as a part of the planned upgrades that I had in mind, thought to upgrade the finger followers from the BS6 bikes which have a different design (helps in reducing the sound of the engine). Bought the parts and sent them over to them, got all 4 of them fitted. They cost around 780 bucks each.

They even mentioned that the svc was supposed to clean the radiator and the coolant was a bad quality one. So they replaced those as well.

Rode the bike, it felt like a different bike from what I had given to fix. Made me so happy. Now, the main question "Should I ever visit the TVS Svcs in Bangalore as the bike is out of warranty?"

Answer to that remains a question still as the trusted svcs have become a laughing stock now.

      Total money spent :

      1. Engine oil + oil filter + chain sprockets + labour + chain guide + roller + bushes : Rs 8000.
      2. Finger followers + coolant + labour + misc (washing etc) : Rs 8000.

Rs 16000 to make the bike brand new. Never replaced any part except the oil seals/brake pads till date. The bike remains as reliable as it gets.
Note : The battery too, is the stock battery from Jan 2018.

Hope this helps understand the long term reliability.

      • Dear owners of Apache RR 310,

I have an RTR 200 4V and I'm looking to ugprade to the RR310. I am aware of the pathetic state of service of TVS. Should I consider the RR 310 upgrade? I will be going to authorized SVC only during the warranty period - after that, I will be going to a mechanic for regular maintenance of the bike (in Thane).

My main use of the bike will be commuting and occasional trips. Could you please share your thoughts - I will be heavily relying on your replies to make my decision.

        Thanks!

          - You will need to visit authorized SVC every 5K KM or so, to update the software and remove service reminder icon. Every city has one or two service centre which have the more experienced technicians for RR310, find them and your life will be easy. Other times use a good mechanic.

          • Hey,
I know best and TVS service centers don't go well together, yet I post it as a last hope if I can find any service center in chennai capable of handling 310 series. This will make my buying decision of rtr 310, else I will move on to Duke 390.

My apache rr310 pulling toward right side
Is this normal with Apache rr310?
              Ibhave checked with service center
But they said its normal with rr310?
I bought in 2018 and had this same issue. This is mostly due to the clutch cable and other wires being routed through the handlbar. those wires are heavy and that could be the reason. I came to know when i changed the clutch cable, it got resolved automatically. probably removing and installing new one would have distributed the force.

In chennai, Lokesh TVS in medavakam is the only place where they do decent job though they inflate the bill slightly. Most SVC dont even take RR saying that its time consuming and they can finish many RTRs and scooters in mean time.
They always give some reason so that we will move to some other SVC.Please take decision based on this.

                • Has anyone in Bangalore bought the RR310 recently? I was wondering how much the on-road price was. On bikedekho, it was showing 3.45 Lakh.
