Showroom person recently told me that the life of chain is 20000 KMs. If not driven smoothly, it needs replacement at 15000 Kms too

Hi guy. I live in Cape Town South Africa and am the proud owner of a 2015 Apache 180. I love the bike and will never sell, my only problem is trying to find spare parts. There is a dealer in my country that manufactures knock off parts that don't even fit the bike and are of poor quality. If anyone can help me with finding a source for genuine or at least decent parts that ships to Cape Town I would appreciate it. I've been struggling for 4 months just to find a chain and sprockets. If I can just find a rear sprocket it would suffice for now.

Try with Rolon India. Shoot them a mail and see (for chain sprocket)

              Hi!

Has anyone tried out the BS6 RTR 180 2V? If yes, are there any improvements from the BS4 model?
I am interested in buying it but it doesn't seem to be available in any of the showrooms here in Chennai. They ask me to make a booking, post which the bike will be transferred from the Mysore plant.

Happy to report back after 5 years and let all know I am still stuck with the 180 It has been a fun and dependable machine over the 6+ years of ownership while I have moved from Bhubaneswar to Bengaluru. The engine is still going strong with 42K on the odo, no re-bore situation at all. Meticulously following oil change every 2.5K kms, engine oil used is Shell AX7 semi synthetic the past 4 years. I presume, other riders have moved up the ladder. Sharing a small collage of the memories with the bike.

Brother, they are trying to pull a fast one on you. Also, it does not make sense to look out for the 2V at the moment as the game has moved on. If you intend to keep the bike with you for the next 4/5 years, going for something modern makes sense. If you still want to get the bike for any specific reason, I suggest you play the waiting game and/or shoot an email to customer care. Cheers!!

Finally my RTR went in for routine service, the first one since lockdown was implemented last March. The bike had since done only 18XX kms but I went forward with Oil + filter change, air filter clean, chain slack adjustment and a polishing session to give a lease of life to the old plastic panels which looked tired. Odo stands at 42XXX kms as of today.

Last extended weekend, I went riding with a fellow Xbhpian and RTR rider. The route we took was Bengaluru - DD Hills - Madhugiri - Gauribidanur - Lepakshi - Bengaluru. Couple of snaps for viewing pleasure. Overall, it was a much needed 350 km round trip since my last outing in the first week of August.

Hi, please check your clutch cable and clutch assembly as well. Might need a clutch overhaul if they are gone.

Hi, thats a lot of wear and tear for a 12K kms run bike, mileage seems to be on the lower side too. If you are are riding fast its understandable. If not, you might want to check it up. If the TVS Remora is too soft a tire for you to get punctures all the time, CEAT would be the best option to go for.

Please try and prevent brake fluid topups, its a scam, it is always better to flush out the old liquid and pour in a fresh one and make sure no air gets trapped in the lines. If you are still in warranty period, try utilize it to the full.
