Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Was the cross section bent by any chance? Bosch plugs have a tendency to have that error. Happened with my Splendor's stock plug. Since then changed to NGK.Originally posted by ayrus View PostNo idea.... It was the stock one. So must be the Bosch UR4KE.[My Motorcycles]

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I think the issue developed over time. Earlier my friend took a ride in my bike and said it lacks power and sounds different (he also owns the same bike). I thought it could be because of the improper carb tuning. Then I had the issue that I mentioned above. If I blip the throttle at idle, the engine will turn off with a sound like a misfire. But if I blip the throttle at over 3k rpm, it will rise to 6-7k rpm. Engine will knock at 20 kmph in 3rd gear. Today morning, the bike refused to start outright.Originally posted by Siddhartha.S View PostThat's interesting, I've never seen anyone change spark plugs so early, unless there was some physical damage. Well did you problem go away now?(that sputtering problem)
After the spark plug change, blipping the throttle at idle makes the rpm go to 3-4k, engine sounds crisper and no knocking at 20 kmph in 3rd gear.

Good, it got solved! Sometimes it's the simple things that make a difference!haha!Originally posted by ayrus View PostI think the issue developed over time. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Rolon makes o-ring type sprocket kits for Apache 160. I've seen a couple of them. You could ask in a good spare shop about the rolon kit for 180 as well.Originally posted by hemnath View PostGuys, my rtr 180 bike sprockets have gone bad within 10k kms, inspite of maintaining it very good. can you guys suggest a good after market chain sprockets particularly O-ring type[My Motorcycles]

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Get Rolon chain sprocket set. I changed it on my rtr 160 at 15000kms, even though there was still life left in the stock. Now it's 10000kms done on them, no problem whatsoever. It's available for rtr180 too.Originally posted by hemnath View PostGuys, my rtr 180 bike sprockets have gone bad within 10k kms, inspite of maintaining it very good. can you guys suggest a good after market chain sprockets particularly O-ring type

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Guys, recently on one rainy day I stopped my RTR 180 on a long signal using engine kill switch to wait till I get green. Once signal turned green, I tried to start the bike but it didn't start. I tried to switch off/on engine kill switch multiple times with no response. Since I was in middle of traffic, I slowly moved her to road corner and tried to start manually and still it didn't help.
Finally I turned off/on the key and later bike got started with self. Did any one had such experience. What could be the root cause. ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Hi guys
I would like to upgrade the rear disc in my bike to the one in the rtr200 4v.
Anyone ever tried this before?
Thanks in advanceThere is no such thing as a bad motorcycle, it all depends on how you ride it.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I think it may require modding the mounting point of the brake caliper to accommodate the larger disc.Originally posted by pranavraj1125 View PostHi guys

BTW.... Why do you want to upgrade the rear disc? If you want better stopping power, you should upgrade your front brake and not the rear one.

I would like to mention that my bike is a 2004victor gl but with the front and rear brakes of the rtr 180.
The front rotor size is the same for the 180 and the 200, but the rear is larger by 40mm.
The dual disc mod was done last year, so just wondering if anyone has already tried it before I go tampering with the disc brakes since its a pain to get it working properly if its removed. There is no such thing as a bad motorcycle, it all depends on how you ride it.
