Met with a accident(behala, Kolkata) today when returning from office.
Riding at 40 45 in city road suddenly the unicorn with a lady pillion (both idiots without helmets) which was slowly moving at left side in front of me took a u turn on right side & I, grabbing the brakes came to a halt thanks to the abs(as there was sand traces on the road). The main twist is the person(shine) riding rash behind me crashed at the rear of my bike and the bike just flew of from between my legs & was skidded few feet with the force due to collision. The end results were I was scratch less but the right side of my bike was covered with uncounted scratches :-
1.The headlight glass was scratched badly on right drl.
2.Bar end weight was twisted so badly that I was unable to twist the throttle.
    3.Right leg guard damaged
    4.Right footrest broken
5.The chrome on muffler & mufler itself badly scratched.
    6.License plate damaged
    7.Right front indicator broken.

Waiting for sunlight to check for more damage. Then I somehow managed to reach home(12 kms from there) by keeping my leg at pillion footrest. This incident proves that abs can save you from skidding and avoiding an accident provided that no idiot is following you. Feeling very sad for the bike as I maintain it with all my savings I earn from working 11 12 hrs a day.

Hi Guys,,, I am having a great problem with front tyre of my Beast Rtr 180 abs. So I am thinking to change it from stock to Michelin Pilot sporty. If anyone have them will you share your experience with them on wet as well as dry conditions.

          What kind of problems?

You can find ample info about the Pilot Sporty if you search this thread.

              1) Yes you can, but wont get any visible bump
              2) Wrong notion that spark plug increases performance, it just helps in cold start and little better throttle response.
              3) Either you increase low end and compromise on top end, or you make it highway friendly and loose initial end

Since the 2nd free service which was about 1500km ago from now(ODO reads about 35xx), they have completely lost bite. I have to literally squeeze the life out of them to get the bike to stop. I went to a local mechanic and he cleaned the pads which didn't work either. They also have good life left on them. The discs too. The only thing left is the brake fluid and the piston. Could either of these 2 be the issue?
Bleed the brakes. Brake oil isn't that expensive. When i first saw i thought your brakes have no bike coz of the brake wear. But yeah, there is air somehow. So bleed the fluid out.

I am running Pilot Sporty on both front and rear. There are times I thought stock TVS tires were much better than these. They used to be very good but, since they are now manufactured locally, they are made of hard compound now and they dont give you much grip if the road is a bit wet or have some gravel here and there. Heck, given a smearing of sand on tarmac the rear wobbles. It doesn't give me confidence when cornering. I would suggest you go for other tires. MRF Zapper or something.

Also I had read somewhere on this forum itself that front pilot sporty is not that bad but the rear is a bit problematic.

                      Hi All,

My Apache 160 has run close to 24000 kms. These days there is wobbling on the handle. When checked by the mechanic, he said rear tyres has developed bubble kind off which makes the handle wobble. My front tyre however looks fine.
Please let me know, if i should change both tyres or should i just change rear tyre. Also, which tyre should i purchase.

                      Thanks

Just change the rear tire. 24000 kms is still fine for front tires. It can still probably go for another 10000 kms at least. Rear tire is quite well past its best performance. Go for the same profile as much as possible as stock for the rear. If the rear is 17 inch, then you have lot of choices. But again the profile size of 110/80 is very difficult to find in other manufacturers apart from the tvs remora ones. Maybe you can find the same profile tire in Mrf - zapper c. If its an 18 inch one then go for mrf zapper wyde 100/90-18 tubeless type.

Guys it's been 15days since I received my A180 ABS, have few queries.
                          1. There seems to be loss of power while riding
                          2. There is this "thad thad" sound, is it misfire or normal?
                          3. There are vibrations on handle bar
                          4. The reserve indicator doesn't blink even when there is no fuel.
                          5. Front brakes have great bite, but I found rear to be okayish.
Please let me know if some of things will get fine after 1st service.

Recently i have noticed that rust is coming o the silencer.
Can anybody tell me how to remove it? Also i saw in some biking forums that using Wd 40 removes rust, anybody used that before on rtr?

Maybe your AFR is set to lean. Is your engine heating above normal?

Its misfire. Nothing to worry. Will be fine after the oil change.
