Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
^^^ This is summer time and in heavy traffic the engine will get heated up with varying throttle outputs, frequent gear changes and clutch play. There is nothing much you can do about it. Just don't worry about it too much. Better grade engine oil might help reduce heating to a little extent.
For the vibes, periodically get the nuts and bolts tightened.
Rear brakes will never have the bite as front does. Keep tapping it for better braking response. Don't just press the brakes and hold on, press and release. Maybe practice this on a empty road until you are happy with the feel.
After the run in is over, you will find a significant improvement in the smoothness of the engine and power. Until then just be kind on the engine and have some patience.Everybody has their own version of TRUTH!!!!!!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Anyone here ever opened the stock exhaust? Something in the Exhaust on my 180 sounds loose or faulty and there is this rattling noise. Anyone faced this before? Any suggestions other than buying a new exhaust or converting to FFE?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Guys I need some help from you. My bike is currently suffering from the common RTR head leakage syndrome. I found that @vivekgautams have used Anabond 666T and would like to know how good it is & from where can I source it in Bangalore? Its not readily available in all hardware shops & most of shop guys some or the other brand which I believe are not good enough. Can u tell me any specific shop in Bangalore from where it can be sourced.

Is it inside the exhaust or the holding point of the exhaust that's causing the rattling noise?Originally posted by evyavan View PostAnyone here ever opened the stock exhaust? Hey bro, Anabond 666t is not that good. The leak had reduced but did not stop completely.Originally posted by susheelkumar View PostGuys I need some help from you. I had to replace my bore-piston kit after 40k km. While assembling the engine, I got my mech to use Anabond Grey gasket maker, it has a better temperature rating than the 666T.
The mech applied the gasket-maker but completely ignored the instructions. He applied a quantity he liked and assembled the engine and immediately after assembly started the engine. He did not allow the gasket maker to harden slightly before assembly nor did he allow it to cure before starting the engine. This caused the gasket to leak a bit.
After some time and km the oil leak has stopped. All it needed was time to cure.
You can buy Anabond grey gasket maker on Amazondotcom. You will need 40/50 grams but pack of 250 grams or so is available. But just make the mech follow the instructions correctly.
Cheers!

Problem found while checking for exhaust issues, and the problem is not with exhaust.Originally posted by susheelkumar View PostIs it inside the exhaust or the holding point of the exhaust that's causing the rattling noise?
The rubber bush that keeps centre stand from touching the chassis is lost and the stand now rests on the metal part that used to hold the bush. That's what is causing the rattling noise.
But, I still want to know if there is something we can do to bring the exhaust note to what it used to be in the glory days. Any suggestions?
Dude, share cost and experience. Does it hold well on wet surface and loose gravel? Pilot Sporty is a terror on loose soil and wet surface.Originally posted by kdevdatta View PostGot new shoes for my sweetheart [emoji5]

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Costed 3000/- at Lokmanya Tyres, Pune. Just yesterday changed the tyre, so can't comment much on the experience. But seems good. Definitely better than TVS tyres. [emoji16] So wet grip must be good. Monsoon is just around the corner, so testing time is not away.Originally posted by evyavan View PostDude, share cost and experience. Does it hold well on wet surface and loose gravel? Will update after a bit of usage.Last edited by kdevdatta; 05-18-2016, 11:00 AM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Thanks vivek for the reply. I should have waited for your reply. I bought Anabond 666T (red) yesterday. Today went to buy gasket rings from SVC. I asked them what sealant they use & they said anabond some 3xx or 5xx series with grey color and not the 666T. BTW I got 25g for 50rs from one automobile shop (approx gmap location: https://goo.gl/maps/WbNpmYJSSb12) in Devansandra road. I believe this should do good for normal Shell Ax7 semi-synthetic oil. Whenever I went for fully synthetic I have got into this situation. Anyway let me try this for now. If this also doesn't help then definitely I will go for the grey one which you suggested.Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostHey bro, Anabond 666t is not that good. I think you can buy that rubber bush for centre stand. Check it out with SVC.Originally posted by evyavan View PostProblem found while checking for exhaust issues, and the problem is not with exhaust.

rtr 180 engine oil concern.
hi guys, i have rtr 180. i am little concerned about the specific recommended engine oil viscosity grade as in the manual book there is only advertising about tvs oil which is in case 10w30. i want to know about my engine requirement of viscosity grade engine oil. As i have seen bajaj has recommended/written in their manual book any 20w50 or their own bajaj 20w50 oil is suitable for the pulsar series. i want to know aside the tvs oil which oil grade is recommended for my engine oil? like if i dont want to use tvs 10w30 which grade oil is needed if i want to use different brand like castrol, motul etc etc. currently i hv poured valvoline 20w50 4t premium. will is cause any harm or much friction in the engine ?
