My RTR was making some noise from the sprocket area whenever i accelerate the bike, sounds something like kat.....kat......
On getting it inspected with ASC mechanic, he suggested that sprocket/chain has started worning and that's the reason for this noise.

Would it damage my bike if i continue riding it without chaging the sprocket set?
Service centre guys advise to continue riding as chain/sprocket is not completely worned out (as per the wear indicator near rear sprocket)

My previous bike has run for around 30k+ kms and still chain/sprocket didnt make any such noise.

My bike has just has 8k mileage. Most of my route is uphill/downhill.
Can apache's sprocket set can worn out so quickly?

Definitely not, unless there is some mfg defect. In 8k even you jump start from red lights, sudden acceleration and all, IMO not possible.

Get your rear sprocket checked for any misalignment which may be the cause of the sound due to the chain not settling in properly on the sprocket.

The kat-kat sound can also simply be caused by an over-tight chain. Check and adjust your chain slack, and see if the problem persists.

Also note that this could be why your sprockets are showing unusual wear. I have seen the SVC mechs tighten the chain too much, thinking you'll appreciate the supposed increase in pulling power. Ask them to just keep it at the recommended slack.

i am experiencing poor acceleration in my Apache RTR 160 (2013 model) for the past 1 month.
I have checked for loose chains, lean afr, tyre pressure (28 F /32 B) and i ensure my bike is not in reserve. I have recently changed the Bore, Clutch, Engine Head De-carbonizing, changed the sprockets, and the wheel bush.
What could be the issue here. I have only one problem, a weak battery. I can't use self start and i start my bike through kicker, and my bike starts after 3-4 kicks.
I am not sure what is causing the bike to accelerate poorly. is it because of the time chain, TPS, etc.

I just now got my RTR 180 serviced, when I reached back home I saw a tube hanging down from the battery area behind the engine. Why is the tube there? Or it has loosened from somewhere? It can come in contact with my silencer and can burn as its of plastic. Please let me know

My abs rtr is 2.5 yrs & 14000 kms old timely maintained from asc but recently I am facing few problems stated below:
1.The abs pump is making sounds as if air is leaking from somewhere when the
bike goes through any uneven surface
2.Whenever I cold start the engine it sounds very good for 30 secs after that timing chain rattles for may be 2 mins then again it vanishes and appears again after riding for say 20 kms.
3.when the bike becomes heated it coughs in low speeds(10-20)and tend to stall but in higher speeds no such problems are there. (provided perfect spark plug colour & 1 kick/crank cold starts)

              Kindly give your suggestions.
NB- using ax 7 due to summers else always used 5100 10w30 in other climates

If it's a transparent tube it is the battery breather. Run the tube from somewhere else, do not let it touch the engine or exhaust. If it is a black thick tube, it comes from the petrol tank. It is the fuel tank breather I suppose. Just run it down from some place else a little away from exhaust. Nothing to worry.

                  Thanks mate.
We can rule out this cause as the same sound is there even before the chain was tightened.

I am having the same issues and my Apace abs has just reached 3k on ODO. In addition to this, the abs gives a lot of feedback in the rear brake which makes it really difficult to hard brake at sudden situations.

Any suggestions anyone? Is there a good svc in Bangalore who can check abs properly?

8k is maybe a bit early, mine got worn out in 11k. changed the entire chain + 2sprockets set. do you ride a lot in dusty places, do you lubricate regularly?
if not the dust erosion can pretty much explain the quicker wearing out.

I have been having issues with my ABS for nearly 4 months now.the back grow literally goes limp and stops working. every time after this the service center guy takes 2 days and says its fixed. 2-3 weeks later, its back!

in the service i did last week, went to a different guy and bled the brake oils. hopefully this fixes the issues.

I have booked my Blue beast as well @hydeRabad. The dealer told me it would take 10 days for the blue color.. However today being the 9th day after booking there seems to be no concrete news about its whereabouts. When I blasted the manager out of frustrations, he offered me to take the white color for timebeing, and would replace the panels once the blue vehicle is delivered to their showroom. Is this a good idea ?? Am really confused.. Please help !!!!

I got my bike in November 2015, I had booked it by August end. That was how high the waiting period for ABS was in Hyderabad.

and yes, you will experience a lot more vibrations on this bike than your shine. and the worst part(for some), its in the daily driving RPM range of 4-6k not in the "rip" it phase.
