Hi
Yes you can put tubeless tires. Just make sure you put those plastic sealant type pins which we have . Just go back 8-10 pages. There are photos of the pin you need to buy. Costs less than 100bucks

Happy friendship day to all the rider friends here. Took out some time & brought the Rimula R3X & changed the TVS synthetic oil with it. Oil filter was also changed in this process. So after riding initial 300km on this oil, I felt the engine to performing good at 70-80kmph highway speeds. Did non-stop Mumbai-Pune ride (including lonavla traffic) & there was no change in performance as I was expecting some form a mineral oil. No there is no clutch slip atleast till now. Fuel efficiency not calculate for now as I already saved a lot from Rs300/- Rimula A big thanks to psr sir, Divya Sharan, muztariq & others for their vast inputs on HDEO in the engine oil thread.

Yes, bought it a year back for 125 rupees...

BTW, keep your black fiber parts away from Brake Oil. :P

Thanks for the Feedback on Rimula R3X.....Since Rimula is a Mineral oil life expectancy is 1,500~2,000 Kms. You will Know the life is gone when your gear shifting becomes hard and engine roughness at 5~6 K RPM. Rimula R4 is a better option since it has Calcium Alkeryl , but at a higher price. There will be NO clutch slip since Rimula does not contain Friction Modifiers(Molybdenum).
Good Luck

Hello All,

I just completed my third service on my RTR at about 5400Kms as i had a long ride from bangalore to yercaud of close t0 600kms.
I didint understand that the service center guy fill up synthetic oil, i have read in this forum say that it should be used after 10K on odo, should i go back to normal mineral oil?
I have one issue, when i hit arround 70-75 on odo at around 6.5K rpm it makes some ringing sound for like a second and goes away. its specific to this speed and rpm. its like cycle bell which we ring really at fast pace. any idea what it might be?. and also engine feels little harsh. I am not good at identifying the sounds but feels different like its choking up not freely reving. Also the vibrations are too much at 50. Please let me know any suggestions.

Hi guys,

I'm facing a problem with the speedo and odo. The speed keeps on changing from zero to 160kmph even in neutral and some times even when the engine is off. I've noticed that a small shake to the handle bar makes the speedo go crazy.I know that RTR shows a speed more than zero(3/4/5/..) when stationary but mine goes all the way to 160..!!
What could be the issue?

Thanks alot psr sir for the reply. I had tough time in getting Rimula (R3x/R4x). Even the shell fuel bunks don't stock it here. Can you suggest any online site as the regular (flipkart/ebay/snapdeal/amazon) don't stock Rimula. 99rpm has mobil delvac in stock (5L). vivekgautams even I have this sporadic issue. The service center guy told me to change the speedo cable set estimated around 700-750 bucks.

Mobil has a large range identity so I am unable to find and give an opinion. Some have tried Delvac and it had worked...but I do not know the properties hence cannot comment on it.

Regarding the ringing sound, seems lie they are from the mirrors. I experienced the same. Due to resonance this happens. In your case might be from somewhere else. Do tighten up the bolts. Tighten up the bolts of console & the mirrors.
Regarding the oil. Tvs recommends semi synthetic oil. Its better to use fully synthetic after 10-12k kms,or else it might cause leakages from the cylinder head. Bike specific.

Stock oil is not that great in highway & long rides. You will experience lot of vibrations. In stock oil even if your doing 70 you will feel as if the bike is struggling to cruise at that speed.
Better to shift to shell ax7. The vibrations will be gone to quite a extent.

Yes You can. I am using Rimula R4 in a Suzuki Access for the past 2 years and 16,000 Kms without problems.
