Abhishek as you suggested i went to the puncture shop. He said the lining is perfect for both the tyres. Still for my satisfaction i asked him to remove it and refit it. But it dint work.

200km update on the shell ax7.
      - No drop in fuel efficiency. I still get around 45 in rush hour city runs.
      - The oil now runs cooler i think.
      - vibrations have gone down a bit more.
      - Acceleration has gone up a bit.
      - Bike behaves quickly w.r.t to throttle inputs.

2 days back the rats had cut my fuse & some wires near the battery area, as a result of which the speedo, drl's,start button & headlights did not work.
Got in touch with the svc & they replaced the damaged wiring & put a new fuse all free of cost. Did not expect this
Thats quite a gesture towards customer service.
Tym for the rat kill to do its job.

I too had tried Shell AX7 recently. But apart from lesser vibrations, I didn't feel anything. On the contrary, I felt that the acceleration has gone down a bit. Bike kinda felt sluggish. It wasn't consistent either. Last week switched back to TVS Tru4 and the familiar Apache acceleration is back. Maybe got duped by the shop.

As for the TVS customer service, I too have a same experience. My bike's ignition switch had gone kaput due to rains. Battery was discharged and kick start wasn't working. I called up to the service center. They sent the mechanic to my place. He tried but the bike didn't start. They towed the bike to service center and replaced the switch and lock set. All free of cost. And they didn't even take the towing charges. I was totally impressed with their service. Later got the right side switchgear replaced too, free of cost.

I don't think, Engine oil will affect mileage of bike.

going by what's being posted in this thread lately, you'd think engine oil would affect world peace, global warming and also cure aids...

That was way too sarcastic, you may offend many out here now.
jokes apart, Engine oil & function in simple def. (wikipedia)...

Motor oil, engine oil, or engine lubricant is any of various well-developed lubricants (comprising oil enhanced with additives, for example, in many cases, extreme pressure additives) that are used for lubrication of internal combustion engines. The main function of these lubricants is to reduce wear on moving parts; they also clean, inhibit corrosion, improve sealing, and cool the engine by carrying heat away from moving parts.

Doesn't really matter to me, what i DO care about is veracity of the stuff being posted here. ICE science is mostly well known, with no mysteries, yet people post wild assumptions and personal opinion. We were all young and enthusiastic once, but posting without verifying facts cannot be condoned.

Anyway, even the definition you have posted is of no use if people interpret according to their opinion. For example, one could argue that since the primary function of engine oil is lubrication, a well-lubricated engine will have less internal friction, hence give better mileage. So a 'good' azxy7k brand engine oil will give better mileage than regular blu4k engine oil since it lubricates 'better'. Ditto for the cooling bit...

Hello guys, I'm thinking to modify my Apache RTR 160. Most of all, I'm looking for a sound boost. So please advise if I need to get a new exhaust or is there anything else that I can do..

                      Hey guys,

Hope you are all doing well. My bike is going strong. Some points I want to share with you all.

                      1. I now shift up @4k rpm. And downshift @3k-2k rpm. The upshifts are smooth and the downshifts have become smooth as well.
                      2. After riding the bike for 20 mins, I can feel the engine heat a lot. Will it go down with time or am I doing something wrong here.
                      3. Although the mentioned speed in the manual is 50 km/h for 1500 kms, but I have taken my bike to 57 km/h in 5th gear gradually for a few secs and come down to below 50.

I have noticed that earlier the engine used to scream like its going to explode anywhere near 3.5k rpm. But now the screaming sound has lessoned a bit and now it revvs upto 4k rpm easily.

                      P.S. My beast

But definitely the engine has become smoother compared to the first couple of weeks.

But will the vibrations remain like this or will it lessen with time and riding?

Honestly speaking, sometime you will feel it more other time it will be less. It is not working on any rocket science as per my experience.
