Would suggest using Amaron. Using it for more than 5 years. Did not have any problems with it. It does not require any maintenance like refilling with Distilled Water, etc. I was once able to start my bike after 3 month of idle keeping - had gone on official deputation.

Can you tell me the Ah specification you are using?

Guys, can we replace the engine head of the old RTR 160 with the new engine head of the new RTR 160 4v?
I guess that would increase the performance a lot.
What would be the procedure to do it, like should i just go to a tvs showroom and ask for the new engine head? Will we be able to buy it?

He has the revz model for 3400 rs.

On the front tire side he doesn't have the zapper FY1 model.
He has the fs model for 1900.

The MRF ZAPPER C 120/80 R17 is available on amazon, but i don't know the quality assurance of it.

Should I buy the tires from online or source it locally from a shop guy.
            Any pointers?

            Thank you.
If you are looking for a 120/80 tyre, Mogrip meteor 120/80 also fits perfectly. I've done around 11k km on mine so far and had no issues. I've purchased one from a local mrf dealer for 2700.

I'm using Zapper FS on front and Masseter on the rear for my RTR160. Both costed me 5100.
Kinda weird combination while riding. It's been like 2k kms on this new set of tyres but somehow feels weird.

No loss in mileage or power. Grip is good. But always feels weird when you're coming from Remora.

On side note, I kinda like remora more

Its because your rear height got increased, as your tyre profile is 120/80

Well visited one more mrf showroom in my place.. No luck.. Apparently the shop keeper was trying to push me towards Michelin 😥

He is not even ready to source the mrf tires for me.. He is telling that its not there in mrf Godown also..

Only God knows if he is telling the truth..
I may end up with Mogrip meteor or remora in the end..

Hows the mrf fs in the front??

And why do you like the remora? Any specific reason.. Remora is from TVS right..
Please correct me if I'm wrong..

With my 2k km ride. I prefer Remora over Zapper FS. Just my personal choice. Rear Masseter is really good but maybe try getting Masseter for front as well if you can.
Else it might feel weird while driving.

Well, the stock remora was fine for 12k km or so, and then started loosing grip. There was good amount of thread left on the tyre. However, I felt lack of grip even on dry tarmac. Meteor is fine too. I thought it was a flatter tyre (saw the 100 section and came to a conclusion), but went for it anyway since almost all my friends who used it gave positive feedback. Surprisingly, the 120 section turned out to be round after installation. To date, I've experienced no issues during cornering. This is my experience.

I am on stock remora at the front. Still searching for the front one though.

I had the same feeling when I first changed to 120 at the back. As some one pointed out, this may be due to the increase in height at the rear. I got used to it now. I still use the stock remora at the front. Surprisingly, the front tyre seems grippy after changing to MRF at the rear.

                        • Buying advice in Chennai

                          Dear Friends,

I have been vsiiting TVS Ramkay in Chennai for a while, looking for a 180 ABS. However, I am coming off with very mixed feeling. While I love the fact that TVS offers 2-channel abs on such a well-balanced bike, I have a concern regarding the purchase and post-purchase experience.

This a bit sensitive issue and hence I need to make a disclaimer. I am new to Chennai and my Tamil is very nascent. I was hoping that TVS showrooms, dealing with big-budget bikes, will have staff with whom I can converse in English, so as to know all the details I want for the purchase. Unfortunately that’s not what I see. This has really made me worry whether buying a bike in Chennai for someone with poor Tamil can be a happy experience. What makes me worried is that each bike needs numerous maintenance services, and sometimes the unique quirks of each bike have to be explained to the mechanic. So basically I am seeking your opinion on how easy or difficult of an experience you had working with mechanics at TVS service centers, if you are not conversant in Tamil. Are you able to have yourself understood and your doubts cleared about the state of the bike at the time of handing over or collecting the bike post-service...?

As I said, it’s a rather sensitive topic so i am a bit self-conscious... but really, language is the only mode of communication we have between the technician (mechanic) and the operator (rider).. if that’s not smooth, how good can the experience be. It’s plain practicality I am refering to, so please let me know how, in the reral world, those of you who dont know the local vernacular, have managed. I’d be particularly interested to hear opinion of bikers in Chennai who fall in the same category as I.

Also, any particularly favorite service-centers of yours (for matters of communication only)?

                          Many thanks!

I am from chennai, i have owned rtr 160 before, right now i own a rtr 200. i have done servicing in 5-6 svc's which include, ramkay tvs, prabha tvs, dhiraa tvs, sathya tvs, brilliant TVS, kohinoor tvs.
As per my experience, all the svc's in chennai are bad. Their only intention is to make money and zero service. If you are very illiterate in biking and its servicing, they will scrap money out of you.
