Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Obviously motul is better than ax7 bcoz it contains Esther in it which has a electro chemical bond which sticks to metal..haven't tried 5100 , but currently using 7100 20w50 and I'm loving it .Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostGuys have anyone used Motul 5100 15w50?? Is it better than Shell AX7?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I have used so many oils in last 3 years, fail to make a big difference though..
I prefer Shell over Motul, as I don't feel any big difference in using Moutl compare to Shell and yes Motul is double the price of Shell. ;-)

Hence it is a 20w50 oil, are you facing any difficulties in starting the engine? Does it take time to warm up? And do you recommend it for city riding(bumper to bumper traffic)?

Haven't faced any difficulty in starting the engine,no need to warm up the engine...the only downside is fe has gone down...I still feel that 10w40 is the best grade for apache..but sadly 5100 doesn't come in that grade.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostHence it is a 20w50 oil, are you facing any difficulties in starting the engine? I'm using AX7 on my beast 160 for past 1 years I see lot of improvement in gear shift smoothness, vibration
and engine smoothess. AX7 is best for Apache.. Preferable to buy from shell petrol bunk as our friend suggested.
Proud Apachian !! ;)

I was previously using shell AX7 till 22k kms but after that i wanted to shift to FS and after a suggestion by a friend, i poured in mobil1 racing and i was more than happy.Originally posted by Devakumar View PostI'm using AX7 on my beast 160 for past 1 years I see lot of improvement in gear shift smoothness, vibration

As you know, RTRs dont do so well with FS oil but this particular oil(mobil1) suits the engine very well.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Actually i prefer the shell outlet as well but there are no shell outlets here in bhubaneswar & distributors/engine oil stores do not stock shell. So i have no choice but to order it online.Originally posted by Devakumar View PostI'm using AX7 on my beast 160 for past 1 years I see lot of improvement in gear shift smoothness, vibration
