Shell AX7.... I use it on my Rtr. It's the best I have found so far.

Can you please also let me know what is the recommended oil grade ?
The recommended oil grade 10w30. But you can shell ax7 . Its 10w40. So when the bike is running at higher temp's the w40 will give better protection than w30.

Woah !!!! Increase in mileage. Dats good. Though with the increase in tire size the reverse happens.

But Thats some hell of adventure ride you did with a lady pillion. Respect.
Honestly, after whole night in snow, it took me 5minutes and choke to get it started. Thanks to almost 1year old battery.
Regarding pillion, even I was apprehensive, if RTR would manage it or not, but it never disappoints.

I think I really need to change the tire now. Met with a small crash due to lack of grip on a sandy curve and the rear tire started creating wheel spins on gliding roads. Today took my bike for a 200km ride. It repeatedly wobbled on asphalt doing just 70 and 80 kmph. Worst experience this time. Need to service the bike and change panels/brake and levers due to crash. Planning to change the tire too in the process. The tire now looks like a plastic. And it actually grips the road like a plastic too >.<

Rode r15 and duke200 back to back. Awesome stability and grip kn both bikes. Sometimes they made me feel if I made a wrong choice. R15 felt more comfortable too O.O

Well, the general notion is that, bigger tyre- more contact area, heavier tyre, etc. & fuel efficiency will reduce. But..
The thing is that there is a small increase in weight & the contact patch remains the same or decreases as the aspect ratio is the same. And as the aspect ratio is constant and tyre width increases, the height of tyre also increases. Then, more diameter of tyre results in more circumference of the tyre, hence, more distance travelled in one rotation.
All this said and done.. The fuel efficiency depends on many other factors. You should not expect huge gains in FE..!! As I said before, MAYBE 1-2kmpl or even just decimal gains.

Buddy, the 2011 model rtr 180 does come with TL tyres as stock. Michelin Pilot Sporty is a good tyre.

Whoah you had a crash . Are you allright ?? . Was your rear tire thread worn out ? Are yours the remora tyres? I feel remora is much better than srichakra. Srichakra was terrible.
Try riding with less tyre pressure . I usually ride with 35 at back 30 front and the ride is a bit bouncy and sometimes losses it line. But if you lower the pressure it feels much better.

Yes, controlled as much as possible and left with only bruises as I was wearing some riding gears. Remora is horrible too. Experienced many wheel spins, wobbling and fish tailing on braking. I was riding along with an R15. Under same braking, it remained steady as hell. And mine is just 1500km old and 3 months -_- . Bike sustained minor damages only. I'll post a pic of the skidded portion of the tyre which now looks like a plastic, if you want to see.

Well i hav done panic braking from 70 and the tyres are good for me. Yes. I would like to see the pic if you can upload it. Mine has done around 3700. No problems yet. Dont you pump the front brake pedal while braking hard ??

I have done panic braking from 90 kmph too. Sometimes when I do it wrong, ABS kicks in. Else it doesn't and the bike wouldn't wobble or topple. Yesterday's ride was weird.

Here is the pic, don't mind the clarity.

Sorry to hear about the crash..
Sand+ curve+ lean= crash..!! Regardless of bike or tyre or abs or no abs.. My friend went down on a Ninja 250 with similar conditions. His ego was the only thing which was injured .
My experience with TVS tyre has been bad but those experiences have made me a better rider.

I agree, but it wasn't a deep curve to lean. I was just in 30kmph :/ Didn't need much lean at all. I have leaned over other corners but never something like this happened. :/
