Is it better to go at local mechanic instead? Will he cost too much for that.

You need to 'bleed' the brakes to get rid of air bubbles. If you are interested in diy's then there is diy about brake bleeding on the rtr itself done by one of the members. Follow the diy carefully and the brakes should be fine
If not a diy, you have to find a better svc which will listen to the problem and bleed the brakes.

I want to test the mileage of my bike properly. My bike's fuel gauge is always faulty. It shows only 1 bar when there is 5-6 litres of petrol. But after some shake to front and back, it shows some 3 or 4 bars.

Lately it's been showing a single bar. Also there is only a little petrol in the tank. I want to bring it to reserve before I refill next. I am not trusting the fuel indicator. I now have this doubt whether there will be fuel visible inside the tank when the level hits reserve(like even while shaking the bike to verify). Or what is the indication in the tank that the fuel is in reserve mode?

Will the bike stop running if I keep the fuel knob 'on' and the fuel comes to reserve? that way I can turn the knob up to 'reserve' position before going to the nearest bunk and it will serve to be a good indicator for me.

      Thanks.

New bike right? same issue with mine also.
It feels like the Fuel Gauge is always on the last bar but it is actually accurate finally.

First wait till the bar starts blinking, this is the equivalent of reserve (I know cos once my bike stalled after blinking for a while).
Usually blinking lasts for around 10kms.

Once you see the blink, immediately go and fill petrol for a round Liter quantity (not in rupees) , reset the trip meter.
note the reading when the last bar blinks again. divide trip meter reading/quantity noted earlier.

Found it to be pretty accurate.
I am getting around 38-40 regularly.

You mean to say, the fuel supply is cut after the blinking starts and the knob has to be put in reserve position for further movement of the bike right?

Yes that is indeed correct. once the blinking starts, its a good time to switch to reserve , though it does last 10-15 kms

Don't go by the fuel gauge in the instrument panel. That will give you just an indiaction and is never accurate enough to test mileage.
Best way is to keep riding till you hit reserve, the bike just stalls while running and you have to turn the knob to reserve. At this moment set the tripmeter to zero and fill fuel at the nearest petrol station and note down the volume of fuel. Next, ride till your bike runs out of fuel in the main tank and hits reserve then note down the trip meter reading and calculate mileage

Been quite some time away from the thread glad to see a lot happening here.
And coming to happenings , the white lady is now 40000+ kms old and no major problems till now. There was a slight leaking from the head part which was fixed pronto. Battery seems to have become weaker than it used to be; ABS gets reset every time the starter is thumbed. Would be getting a sealed battery soon. only elec. mod running is the upgraded headlight (55/60 Halogen)
Rear tyre might need replacement in about max 2-3k kms, currently on 120 section michelin pilot sporty.
Engine oil used is the new so called "synthetic" engine oil by TVS.(450 bucks or so for a litre)
Fuel efficiency calculated during the last trip to the hills of Valparai was around 40+ Kmpl average(reserve to reserve). mixed riding conditions (ghats, cornering, flat outs, quick overtakings, cruising at 80s and last 50+ kms mixed city riding.)
Tuning seems to be a bit on the richer side but only slightly. thinking of keeping it that way. no unnecessary exhaust popping. except for slight flame pops at very rare occasions. (hard deceleration or shifting in redline)

Are we allowed to change the SVC, I am still using free service as still 5th service is due??

Thanks for the reply. I heard that bleeding may solve the problem, but is it possible that it's a cable or lever adjustment problem?

Ya it happens sometimes that the fuel bar shows wrong count.
Still you can ride the bike in 'ON' state until you start feeling that engine is stalling, it will start coughing i.e. when you apply throttle also it will tend to decrease speed, at that point of time turn the knob to 'Reserve'.
By the way you can assume your bike gives 40 KMPL and predict after how many kms it is likely to go into Reserve.

                          .

In disc brakes the lever freeplay cannot be adjusted nor there is any cable which can be adjusted like in drum brakes. The only solution is bleeding the brakes/changing brake fluid.

Waste ASC guy can't change my disk pad properly, that's why this problem is arising. Will ask them to properly adjust in coming service.

Guys a small query. I bought my steed from jyoti motors. I only did the first free service there because they are pathetic. So i changed my svc to ashirvaad. I have done my 2nd & 3rd service here. Ashirvaad is really good. Pure professionals.
So my query is if i need replacement of any of bike parts within warranty period should i visit ashirvaad or jyoti ? Will jyoti provide me the part free of cost even though i have not visited them for services?.

Untill you get the servicing done in authorised tvs svc you will not have a problem with warranty. It doesnt matter which service centre you visit for servicing/warranty claim as the warranty is given by TVS motors company and not by the service centre. I have myself gotten warranty claims in 2 different service centres without any problem.
