Yes lots of fun. I have crossed 100 kmph only twice, because the bike is new and if we take care of Apache well now then we can enjoy the bike even more at a later stage. After first service, i feel that bike is more smooth and eager to reve more. Initially i got around 45 kmpl of mileage but now it dropped to 33 kmpl. Will it improve after second service ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Yes, how many km have you done till now? You need to take care of the bike properly initially. Mine is just a 1000km old and only one service done. As you said, the engine became smooth and revvs so smoothly after first service. But I did many 100+ speeds and constantly vary speed. It's good to revv it high now and then but not keep it there for long. I stopped following the 40-50 speed limit once it was 500km old. Because I took it out on highways and had to do 70-80kmph constantly to keep up with my group. The engine became smoother after the ride. Before first service I got 39km to a litre. On the highway trip it was 45kmpl. Now its giving an average 42 kmpl. If I ride it at 4000rpm in top gear then it might increase. But its difficult not to revv the engine hardOriginally posted by Vibin46 View PostYes lots of fun. It's due for second service in a week.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I have done 700 kms till now. Constantly riding between 50-70 kmph around 5000-6000 RPM range. After the first service, the engine is more eager to rev hard and the acceleration after 70 around 5800 RPM is excellent. My Apache is not the ABS version but still the braking super progressive and stability is rock solid even under hard braking. I heard that TVS tyres were not good but i havent had any problem until now. What about yours ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
That is good. I haven't had much complaints with the tyres till now. Yours is also TVS remora tyres right? I ride it on uneven roads which are wet and they still hold their position well as they do on sandy or gravel filled roads. But in the beginning they used to skid under braking on sandy roads even on almost stand still. Maybe not good after a 100kmph speed? Never mind. Mine is ABS and it's been helping me a lot. So much that it helps me correct my mistakes. I am also glad that I found a proper showroom cum SVC for TVS bikes closer to my home. I just want to re check my bike's mileage and the fuel indicator is always false showing wrong readings.Originally posted by Vibin46 View PostI have done 700 kms till now. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Yaaah same tyre. Even i want to get the ABS version but i couldn't get it here, so opted for the regular version. The service is not great but its ok here. But i haven't got my tool kit or first aid kit now. I ask them but they say that the stock is not yet come like that.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
You pressurize them for that. Those are basic things. Send a complaint to TVS company itself. And those two kits are for your own safety and emergency right? anyway, PM me if you got any further query. This thread appears to be like a chat box now. It's for a different use.Originally posted by Vibin46 View PostYaaah same tyre. Even i want to get the ABS version but i couldn't get it here, so opted for the regular version. Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I dont know about the current stock tyres but the previous were completely crappy.
Its like they were meant to do everything else except gripping the road well.
I changed my stock tyres after 6000 kms, i just couldn't ride with those tyres.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
hello every one,
my name is sagar. I am going to by new bike. after reading a lot on xbhp and other bike review websites, I came on two bikes both are from tvs , the 180 and 160. please suggest me to make choice between two. I already got testride of both bikes. for apache 180 I did testride two times. because on first occasion between 2k to 3k rpm I feel there is no power from he engine. so get second test ride for it and confirms yes there is no power between said rpm. anyone has any idea about this scenario.
thanks in advance

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Thats very low in the rev range and yes there is no power there, power usually kicks in after 4k rpm.Originally posted by sagar_6343 View Posthello every one,

BTW you wont be riding at those rpms a lot so dont worry and go for the bike.
If you like the 180 then get the ABS version.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
There is power in RTR all the way from idling RPM. Just kidding. Anyway, those are the RPMs you ll quickly get through and reach 4k rpm where you usually ride in city traffic. I do not get what exactly you meant by no power in 2k to 3k rpm. But in the beginning you ll find it difficult to control its pull in slow moving traffic and not hit the vehicle before. So you will exactly know what lies in that range everytime you start throttling. Just in case if you find yourself in such situation, ABS helps and prevents skidding or abruptly hitting the vehicle in front. This is just my experience with the bike and after riding other bikes I can say this bike has sufficient power until it reaches redline. Get your bike and have fun safely!!!Originally posted by sagar_6343 View Posthello every one,

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Guys, at 10k kms my front disk brake had become less responsive, the ASC guys changed my disk pad for that reason.
Now its 11k and I still feel the brakes are not responding properly. I have to press it hard to engage properly, the rear disk instead is much better due to which it skids most of the time. Any idea what could be the cause?
Personally I feel ASC guys suck at their job. They are never able to resolve the issues properly.~Accelerate Fast ! Brake Faster~

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Ask the mechanic to try changing the front brake fluid and the front brake cable and then tighten it properly.Originally posted by prathappa View PostGuys, at 10k kms my front disk brake had become less responsive, the ASC guys changed my disk pad for that reason.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
The mechanics are in hurry at the service centre + they wont listen also properly.
If they drive and check they will say "Sir, its proper only, all Apaches are like this".
Is it better to go at local mechanic instead? Will he cost too much for that.~Accelerate Fast ! Brake Faster~

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
I do not know about the charges that local mechanics demand. So I don't want to misguide you. Why don't you try changing to a better SVC for this and if it gets okay, continue with that SVC?Originally posted by prathappa View PostThe mechanics are in hurry at the service centre + they wont listen also properly.
