Not only RTR's but all bikes.Originally posted by Garry_Menace View PostYes
It is true for all RTRs.
In short strokes the bike vibes and in long stroke the engine noise increases.
In P220, the vibes and noise are already excess that you wont know whats going on even if a meteor fell right next to you.Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Post@garry but this doesnt happen in pulsar 220,r15 and the fz...i rode fz in pondycherry which is scorching hot even then no tappet noise or vibrations.if it had been apache then it would have killed me with the vibes
R15 being a long stroke, the engine noise increases and also makes the bike irritably jerky.
And just riding a bike in the afternoon is not what we're talking about. Your ride has to be left out and then ridden during 12~1PM.
And in FZ16 the vibes start from 5k. and keeps on increasing and never seen to stop.Motorcycling Experience:

Fingers crossed BroOriginally posted by lijok View PostInstalled the stock main jet today. The hiccups when going uphill from my house to the road (which is where it manifests very well) has vanished. Hoping, praying that this is it... phew... gonna be testing the 'stock' setup for a day or two.
This would be it.
Btw, from where did you get the stock main jet? Because you've said it is not there at the SVC's.The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Happy Happy Happy but....
Ohke guys finally after a long wait of 2 months my ride is back with the bang
. The acceleration is damn smooth , more than the stock(thnxx to joel
). The bike pulls effortlessly till 110. Yesterday i touched a top speed of 137 kmph on my ride and the lap timer was 3.6 (im a 100+ kgs rider). The tyre is mrf zapper c 120/80-17 right now and the engine oil is valvoline champ 4t 20w40. The only problem im facing is MILEAGE. On sane riding i.e under 4.5k prm im gettin a good mileage of 40-45..(cant ride like that for more than 15 mins
). But on hard ripping i.e more than 7k in all gears , the mileage drops down to 23-25 kmpl.
one more thing, As the problem of stuck rpm vanished after disconnecting the tps, i wanted to knw tht is the tps faulty or some other thing is faulty
.
Thnxx for ur prompt replies eveyone

Nah buddy. The bore kit just improves the rev range and the acceleration increases a bit and i must say tht it smoother than the stock engine now. The top speed is not a factor due to the bore kit it totally depends on factors likeOriginally posted by shiwaan View PostDOES THE BIG BORE KIT GIVES U THE speed of 137 or its the Apache top speed me 2 owning Apache abs but top i touched is 126 what is it can you explain buddy??
1.Carb tuning
2.Croutch position
3.engine oil(helps to reduce the top speed timing)
4.Correct tyre pressure etc

Experience
I previously posted that I have serviced my bike myself.
Its almost a month & 10 days more.
My bike has drastically changed. Performing better, one of the smoothest RTR.
Giving me at present 42.30Kmpl. Topped at 130kmph.
Previously my bike gave me around36kmpl & topped just 124kmph.
I checked my lap-timer it was just 4.0sec for 0-60kmph.
Currently I am using 20W-50 Castrol semi-synthetic. NGK spark-plug.
The oil has problem of morning start or when cold, like now-a-days, as it is a thick oil. But on long rides or touring in hot weather it is seriously a good oil. It doesn't let engine to heat up too much.
As its a winter time I will be changing my oil in 10 days from 20W-50 to 10W-40 or 15W-50 or 10W-50(if i get it).
What would you prefer guys??
And tell me if you are satisfied with the info.

And even i can hear some similar sound when i go on pot holes ... this is happening from last 3-4 days ... kms done 8.5k

Buddy check the chain cover.Originally posted by rak2410 View PostGuys I have some minor problem..

As in my case i was having the same thatt sound whenever i go over any pot hole or speed breakers. On close inspection found that the chain cover side which connects on the rear tyre end was broken.
Used feviquick to fix it and now for the moment its ok.
Might be a same case in yours.
Do tell us if the reason for the sound is something else.

no i didnt do any mods to the swingarm, everything is stock. The 120/80-17 fits in the stock one but theres a very little i.e less than a finger's space with the chain cover.Originally posted by nick1979 View Posthi buddy, did u make any mode with swingarm or the chain cover while fitting the rear 120/80/17. thanks in advance...
anyways i wont recommend u to get 120/80 as it will rob of performance a nd mileage which is very much noticable. If ur not a performance freak and have more affinity towardss the grip then u shld go for it.
ND OTHER GUYS CAN SOMEONE PLZ TELL ME ABT MY MILEAGE PROBLEM

Dude, you changed your tires to 120 specs and the milage dropped!!!!Originally posted by UTKARSH STUNTY SHARMA View Postno i didnt do any mods to the swingarm, everything is stock. The 120/80-17 fits in the stock one but theres a very little i.e less than a finger's space with the chain cover.

it has been 4 months, since I changed my tires to IRC 120/70,and hve got fuel efficiency UP by almost 3 kmpl....(previously 40kmpl,now 43),though the performance has dropped a little....
Its not the tire man....some other thing is affecting your milage....HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3
