Actually It was a case with my CBZ extreme.After i changed a clutch plates(Bought 2nd hand with worn out clutch plates).The performance took a big hit. So i gave it to my cousin and bought a RTR

I feel clutch plate change is an inevitability.After two years of riding, the clutch cable adjustment nut is at half of the original adjustable length.Hopefully it will last another year.

@deception : Even I changed my clutch plates at 15k kms, it wont effect the performance, but be soft to the plates when they are new.
When I bought mine in November 2010, my 0-60 was 3.5, but after that even I am unable to go below 3.9. may be wear and tear do hamper the engine.

Clutch plates need a run in i guess, my bike is march 2010 model and it has covered 19k+ kilometers... my mechanic told me that my clutch plates are getting week and they may last for another 3 kms or so.

Dude, you seriously worried about your 0-60 timings?
My 0-60 timing is 5.8 seconds :P .... looks like my skills suck at this, but im still proud of myself as very few people can corner as safely and as well as me

The main jet in my carb read 105!!! No wonder I'm having issues. The hunt for stock jet starts...

But I don't remember any carb mods from your side, then howcome the jet got replaced?

I had got my stock jet bored after installing K&N. Then later, when I got the carb cleaned, the mech said he has replaced the jet with a new one. Never did I even dream that he would put a small one. Good thing he is in Cochin, else I'd go and bash him (verbally ie)...

Stock jets are not available in either TVS SVC here... hmmm

Ya, i need to work on my conerning skills.

BTW are you having the cam chain noise problem i mentioned in my earlier post?I persisted in my SVC and they said that i have to wait until an engineer comes to inspect........... FROM INDIA.

Was just going to ask you about the progress with the hiccups issue..
LMAO!:-D So its the main jet at fault and you replaced TPS,TCI and what not.I guess it must be the Apache 150's main jet but I doubt if its the jet to blame for cause it comes into play at the higher rpm range mostly above 5krpm while you are facing hiccups at lower rpms.Just my take,check other possibilties too!

Not sure exactly what is cam chain but at around 12k kilomerters on the odo my sprockets were very bad and i replaced them with a new chain kit, costed about 1000 rupees. There was some sound coming from the chain due to worn out sprockets.

do all the apaches vibrate in the afternons or when the weather is very hot and vibrate less when the weather is cold??? i also observed that when the tappets get heated the vibes increase to an unbearable level

@garry but this doesnt happen in pulsar 220,r15 and the fz...i rode fz in pondycherry which is scorching hot even then no tappet noise or vibrations.if it had been apache then it would have killed me with the vibes

The vibe's present in the 4.5-6.0K Rpm range is a thing which one could easily live with. May be the intensity does get a little higher with increased temperature, but it's certainly bearable. The vibe's issue was sorted out to a great extent on the 180, Big Time i.e., it's present in that limited rev range ONLY. And now, the HE versions of the 160's too are very much improved. No offense guy's, just shared what I've come to know

Another thing is that, when we ride in city limits, the speeds would be say, <55, which is below the vibe zone. Periodic tightening of engine foundation bolts (don't know exactly where those are located, but the SVC guy's would do the job if asked for) would help as is the use of a SS or FS engine oil (after 5000-7000km) from Motul or Shell. And yes, care taken during run-in plays a big role in delivering maximum engine smoothness.
