+1 why compare moded bike to stock bikeOriginally posted by shivankMan, you are incorrigible! The drag racing bug has definitely bitten you hard. Why are you so obsessed with numbers?
In a chicken fight if you give one chicken a machete obviously it will crush other one
And its not related in real time any way but any ways let me share I see "some" similarities:
Do you guys remember NFS MW.
According to that bmw m3 was the best car , but this can be beaten by the volkswagen golf car(black list 15 car) with all JunkMan Parts
Coming back :
@rak2410 : That pic of air filter is ok , daily I used to ride near marathalli flyover construction area , my air filter was in much worse inside it used to be full dusty. Have a look at this DIY posted by haxorLast edited by kantu; 11-10-2011, 01:24 AM.site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

bro first of all daytona fz and joel's fz has many differences one of them is the cc it self as the daytona kit runs on stock 153cc engine while the joel's one is a 180 cc..and the exhaust differs too....Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Post@ranjith- r15 stock 0-100 in 11 or 12 seconds?? i must be wrong then about the RTR 180 acceleration.....i think it is slower than r15 when it comes to acceleration..
utkarsh-so a stock r15 can beat a fz dayatona and RTR180 cant....
and i said the daytona fz gives hard competition to rtr 180....but i never said who wins....and yes i said tht a stock r15 is far better when it comes to acceleration after 90+ but yes the king of city roads will still be the apache due to its immense power and exteremely flickable body and shoter wheel base which makes it a killer tool for cities
ohke will try that plzz sir can u tell me the reason behind the engine noise problemOriginally posted by psr View PostThe stock main jet is 105 and pilot 15...Try a main jet of 110 or values very near to it,and adjust AFR screw to 3.turns (STOCK 2). the top end is decided by Main jet along with Throttle Needle position.

Ask him to get back the stock setting, stock air filter, stock main jet and check if it can rev above 8k.And ofcourse, you have to tune the carb each time you change the jet for proper a/f mixture!Originally posted by UTKARSH STUNTY SHARMA View PostAnd finally couldnt do upjetting on rtr 160 ...tried all jet sizes from 115 , 118 , 125...but the bike chokes on each of them at 8 rpm....Just one ques
do i need to retune the carb after changing jet size...
Your air filter is dirty, the brownish tinge inside is the dust particles sticked up there.Clean the filter with kerosene/diesel,blow dry it/allow the remaining solvent to evaporate, after that apply any 2T oil over the filter, you are done.Originally posted by rak2410 View Post

Nice info there Sir.So if the air filter is removed, there will be no restriction and hence less venturi effect, right?Originally posted by psr View PostIf the inlet of carb is fully open to outside air this will drop the air speed, through carb ventury because the abundant availability of air outside will immediately try to neutralize any difference in vacuum occurring in the ventury, and the engine will not be able to rev the same as with an AIR FILTER.

Yes ,it is one of the reason why bike without filter has difficulty in starting and acceleration is poor. You need good vacuum signal at the top of Emulsion tube to have good acceleration.Originally posted by Drifty View Post
