    Update:After switching to Shell 10W40 again,rode the bike 40kms today and its touching the sweet 11krpm easily,redlined it a few times today,a big grin on my face!The w50 oil is best left for the 15s and Ninja's.

      True the foam filter seemingly last more, but repeated cleaning makes the pores open to bigger size .I have a KB100 in which i had seen this happen and beyond 6 K Kms found more dust after filter(cleaning every 1K Kms since I am in city).Hence to be on the safe side suggested this.The cost compared to benefit outweighs sustaining old filter.

        • jetting issues on rtr 160

          hi, guys...sory to post a query of rtr 160 here but i felt this is the most active thread so could get a efficient and quick reply...the issue is tht my frend has a rtr 160 he...which has clocked 7k kms...he recently took my 3k kms used k-n filter and got it plonked on his bike even when i advised him on not to do so.....as i got my valves and piston fried due to it and the only good for me was tht i then got the joel's bb kit instld still runin in now....ohke so enough of the story now thw problem is..

          The setup is tht the airbox is removed and the filter is mounted on the hose pipe and the other two pipes to the box have been inserted in the hose pipe by cutting it and sealing with m seal as told by the mech....the bike revs freely till 11k rpm in each gear..without any misfires and mileage drop till now he gets 44 on super hard rippin i.e always above 8k rpm as we have good and empty roads here,.....but the problem being faced is tht the top speed has reduced the bike resists to go above 118 while earlier it used to touch 125....so to solve this i got the 115 size jet but the hole in tht jet seemed to be smaller than the stock 105 jet so increased the jet size by wires now its just silghtly bigger than the stock one ...but after plonking in tht jet the bike on standstill revs till 11k rpm easily but while riding it refuses to rev above 8k rpm at all it starts giving jhatka as if petrol if finished so plzz can someone help me with this

            very true ! the admin is busy selling his tees and magazines and the forum is neglected totally . are we a bunch of kids that using wtf offends their moral sensibilities .infact even kids are more mature . members should report a post instead of directly confronting others and trying to act like a mod or something if they feel a post is offensive . the mods on xbhp have absolutely no accountability and act on their own whims and fancies and totally biased and inconsistent actions . some people get banned for flimsy reasons while others are left scot free for the exact same actions. older members would have noticed this over time .

                  thats quite a lot of money for the p220 projector with hid . where did u buy this from ? a guy i know in karol bagh sells a bi xenon projector with great light output for 3000 rs i would recoomend him . add 1400 for full dc conversion . you cannot minimize power consumption by any method .

                        Are you talking about mxsmotosport (sikh guy) ? Got it from there after getting recommendation from an old xbhpian. I know it can not minimize the power usage but as I don't ride that much in the night, its ok for me,although he has used DC convertor(as per the mechanic) something like this

                        But will get it DC asap, I don't want to change the battery do often. Mxsmotosport also told me that most of the projectors and HID are local (Chinese make) which will either burn the headlight socket or will cause more problems.

                        P.S : I am actually looking for a good electrician for bikes in Delhi/NCR

                          nope the sikh guy in corner shop always try to fleece customers by overpricing stuff . the flashier and jazzier bike/gear you come on the higher the price quoted for same stuff . yes most hids and projectors are chinese , even his stuff is branded hids and projectors are very very expensive unless u get them used . get coil rewinded and change rr for full dc . u can see the apche full dc thread on xbhp , try contacting puneet for some mechanic as his rtr is also dc .

                            • @Jeanie : Yes , to be honest after seeing everyone getting HID, projectors, DC setup in the same price, I guess I have paid more. Anyways, mistakes do happen. Already sent a message to Puneet1 for the same


                              @RTR Owners : If the timing chain is making noise will it effect anything on the engine, the mechanic said its ok, don't cross 60kmph mark and get it done within 500-600 kms

                                You need to re-jet the main jet with a bigger size,try the 125main jet from RTR180,that would solve the problem most probably.Also get the air filter cleaned,had he got the valve clearances adjusted in between these mods?

                                no he has never got his engine head open and there has been no such problems of valve or tapets.......nd yes the breather pipes are inside the hose pipe and sealed will post a pic asap.....but how come the bike revs freely with a smaller jet till 11k and installing a bigger one kills it,...??? acha so i need to get 125 right....the a180 jet will do na..??
