Right, so i've asked Gautam to post this on my behalf since i've been
banned for 'profanity and abusing other members'. I accept the ban
because i pretty much expected it after what i said. But i'm not going
to let this go without clarifying the issue and demanding that people
think about their actions.

The story so far: One of the members (rak2410) posted about his
headlights and never having heard the term 'angel eyes' before
(sounded kinda gay to me), i asked "Wtf are angel eyes? All i see in
the pic are an HID and two white LEDish pilot lamps.". Now, for those
clueless, this happens to be an acronym and cannot possibly be termed
profanity unless you interpret it as such.

Mr. prateek2210 then proceeded to pseudo-moderate:


This was the bit that really pissed me off. If he took offence to my
post, he should have just reported it to the mods (there is a button
for that) instead of being the hero, trying to be my boss and
increasing his post count.

When i asked him to mind his own business (without profanity, mind
you), he, along with another member, ceeber, started to get personal
and commented on my home and if i use that kind of language there etc.
That's when i proceeded to call them rectal orifices, and got banned
for that post.

I always have this advice for people who post on forums and get into
fights that just because you're insulated by internet anonymity,
doesn't mean that you should be talking any crap to anyone you see.
Always try to picture the person in front of you as a real one, and
how you would speak in real life, face to face.

Lets see how this conversation would have gone in real life.

prateek2210: don't use such words

jp: don't tell me what to say or what not to, you ain't no moderator.
and don't pretend to be a saint, like you don't use the real f-word
elsewhere.

prateek2210 & ceebeer: use such words at your home, maybe you already do.

jp: don't talk about me or my home you @#$%&!

Now, anyone with half a brain can see that no one would actually talk
to someone like this in real life for using the word wtf. and if they
did, then in real life too, i would respond to them like i did. There
is only so much a person will hear without responding accordingly.

In real life, i would have probably slapped them too for intruding
into my personal life and talking about my home etc. too

This was a trivial matter, unnecessarily escalated by wannabe
moderator-members who should stick to being a regular member and
report to mods if they find a post offensive.

And if i was abusive, then surely the xpolice should be able to see
that it was not without provocation and deal with the offending
parties similarly?

Not like i really care about the ban itself, xbhp has become a mecca
for wannabe kids who think no end of themselves, and it's kinda like
facebook now isn't it? I won't be returning here, my life, real and
riding, doesn't revolve around this forum.

Hey Renny, i thought you'd disappeared bro!

Read the long quoted part in gautam's post on the previous page for the story.
The ban's ok man, i did use profanity when provoked, but it was
intentional. I pretty much expected the ban, but these kids playing
moderators won't see clearly without a few harsh words sometimes.

Anyways, i'll talk to you sometime if/when i'm unbanned.
