Mad Sunday
Spent the Sunday morning with the Apache7305: a 50km circuit ride followed by cornering sessions.
Removed the RVMs to improve the vision and to decrease the weight on the handle bars:
Not quite there as yet! The quest goes on!
PS: Closed circuit, Professional rider.
It is the safest location one can get here on a Sunday.

Barapullah, then Lakshit vanished somewhere and I went to Lakshmi Nagar loopsOriginally posted by abhishekch View Postamaron should lend their tag line "last long really long" to tvs tyres
and where did you did the touchdown.

Ask Delhi people even @abhishekch, they know I fell at a speed of 10-15 on wet tramlined road, but yes while at high speed on dry tarmac , I am quite comfortableOriginally posted by Royalapache View PostIt does last long i still have my old tvs tyres which is just 10k km old.. N it still looks good.. But i feel that it skids n breaking is difficult at high speeds!!!! Specially at wet conditions...

That s the problem it nevers wears outOriginally posted by Royalapache View PostIt does last long i still have my old tvs tyres which is just 10k km old.. N it still looks good..
I was hoping that after 10k it would start showing signs of going bald but it never did , waited till 16k became impatient and switched to Zappers.

Why should the center stand be removed ? As its more useful than the side stand like for washing , oil change etc.Originally posted by kantu View PostThat s the problem it nevers wears out

The centre stand is still intact but, I hate it. However, I need it since I clean and lube the chain every 500-700kms. Some gentleman adviced to me to park a bike on a centre stand if its for a longer duration. Keeps it well balanced?! May be! If someone donates me a paddock stand, I 'd gladly remove.Originally posted by Royalapache View PostWhy should the center stand be removed ? As its more useful than the side stand
To answer your query Royal Apache, the centre stand might hit the road and upset the bike when on full lean and also, needless to say, weight reduction is a great strategy to go faster!

The center stand scrapes the road when you bend the bike beyond a certain angle...Originally posted by Royalapache View PostWhy should the center stand be removed ? As its more useful than the side stand like for washing , oil change etc.
@discussions about tyre
my bike has completed 23k and the front tyre looks like new :P
the rear one still has some life left in it but im going to replace it... it is spoiling my cornering abilities...Apache 180

There is a MRF shop near SRS mall , on that CRPF shipra suncity road. Ask there just for the info, I will ask the MRF store here at my place.Originally posted by flyingJian View PostI am up for a change of my RTR 180's front tyre and need help here from Delhi guys who have recently changed there ride's front tyre with MRF Zapper FS 90/90 17" (the same tyre which is there in P220.) or have the idea of the tyre.

In the owners manual it is said to wipe the dip stick clean and thread it in, take it out and then note the reading. So, just dipping might not suffice.Originally posted by kantu View Post@All

Make sure the bike is placed on central stand and ground level is even. Check oil level after waiting for 5 mins.
Ride Safe
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

guys went to test exhaust performance this sunday on a empty strech .
some points i got to know
1. bike pulls magnificently in mid rpms (4k to 7.5k)..(even stock pulls in this rpm band , ffe has just increased the pull )
2. there is lot of torque improvement in bike.
3. my bike start to vibrate more on higer rpm. above 7.5k rpm there is lot of vibration which was less on stock exhaust. may be bike needs some tuning..
4. its been 3 months and 2300kms since last service.(tapplets neeeds to adjust they are making a lot of noise)
5. i have not tuned the bike after the airfilter alteration (done more than 500 kms after change) . bike must be running lean(symptoms heavy vibs on higher rpms)
6 airfilter alteration: i have altered the stock air filter to increase air flow.
i have removed the airfilter cap (which has smaller dia air intake opening) and putted a plastic ring on inner foam opening it increase its diameter and sealed the rest with the cello tape so that no air is sucked from surroundings of filter.
now filter retains its filteration(more than k&n) and has increase the flow of air.
and their comes sweet air induction sound from filter box when throttle is pulled suddenly.
pic of airfilter.

some pics i clicked on sunday.

Is k&n safe
Is k&n air filters safe for my rtr 180 in long run? Its run 11k now its stock . Im planning to stay with the bike for another 3years . Does installing k&n affects the engine in long run ? My friend had a bad experience after installing it in pulsar , after 1 year he had to change his piston crankshaft stuffs which nearly cost him 10 k to make it run like a stock new. I don want to risk my rtr with it. So im seeking experienced advice to have it or not. As i really like the throttle crisp , smoothness and its tone but afraid of spoiling my bike .Treat ur bike good n she wil treat you better
