It could be either fork problem or the uneven wear of front rubber (as already told by many guys).Originally posted by UTKARSH STUNTY SHARMA View PostJoin my facebook Page: Life On 2-Wheels | Blog: Life On 2-Wheels

also i am facing vibrations...at all RPMs...even in cold weather i poured in castrol power 1 engine oil and got it serviced recently....about 119 kms back....the svc guy told me that he tuned the carb for optimum settings
Have you checked the tappet clearances? They can lead to a myriad of problems.
I think it is best that you don't redline the bike until the very last gear unless you have modified the bike. You can easily kill the engine.
11.5k in 3rd gear is just asking for trouble. What were you doing anyway? You are way past your Ideal shifting RPM.(No offence intended)
Valve clearance problems can cause your bike to feel like a vibrator.
I am not saying that mine is smooth as silk, but it is very well within acceptable levels.

Hello guys,
Is there anyone here who has used the R15 V1's tyre on the RTR 180?
I wanted to know if it has any negative effect like mileage, acceleration, top end, grip etc,...
I'm in a dilemma whether to replace my tyres with R15's tyres or Michelin or IRC...
IRC has some good reviews by Apache owners but Ninja owners who get IRC tyres don't have good response towards IRC tyres.
What are the tyre specs offered by Michelin for RTR 180?Apache 180

hi,saipranav
for tyres for rtr there has been a very long discussion in the tyres thread some time ago , u can check that for exact details about all tyres.
Now r15 tyres are sticky which gives good lean angles but when u are on the straights the tyres rob off the top end by say some 4-5 kmph. The acceleration remains good but the efficiency will be a bit low due to the stickiness. In short ur ride will run a bit slower than with tvs tyres.
I was also in the same dilenma some time back and after loads of discussions i zeroed on the michellin pilot sporty 100/90-17 it has a little less rubber than srock when it come to contact with the black patch, but its a vfm as claimed by many. I will be installing this on my bike once my zapper is totally worn out. It costs a 2k and gives superb grip on road at the same time not disturbing the fuel economy and performance.

There are many guys who are running RTRs with R15 rubber. It is sticky, indeed. But there wouldn't be any mileage drop for sure. It's thinner than the stock spec tire so you will only earn some extra kilometers per liter of fuel. Acceleration will increase (theoretically), top end (does it matter?) will remain more or less the same, grip-million times better than TVS tires.Originally posted by saipranav View PostHello guys,

Get P220's Zapper for front. And for rear decide between the Zapper S (R15) or Michelin (it's a tad on the weightier side, your bike might suffer mileage/acceleration drop).
Both of the above tires are not of stock spec. You can also try the IRC as it comes in the same stock spec (NR-48). My bike is running on them for past 10k kilometers. After 10k, though, it starts to fall flat and does not provide the same levels of grip as earlier. That said, for the first 10k its soft-compound will happily keep you glued to the road! Rain, mud, gravel etc, it just grips. Try them once if you wish.
If you are apprehensive about IRC's performance in the future then don't think twice and go with the preferred choice of either the MRF or Michelin.
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

Huh??? How can the tyres lose their efficiency because of "Stickiness"??? Are we talking about F1 tyres here??? R15 tyres are very light and if anything, your efficiency should go up....Originally posted by UTKARSH STUNTY SHARMA View Posthi, saipranav

^^+10 for the above comments.Infact a lower profile tyre in theory should increase the acceleration as well top speed because of the low rolling resistance! But the ride quality will go down significantly.
@Saipranav:The R15v1 front tyre is been used by many members here and they are happy with the performance, now you have one more option of the V2 front tyre
90/80 17'' profile which will be a direct fit and will be much better in terms of looks and performance than the 80/90 profile tyre.

Thanks for the inputs guys, will go for a rear R15 V1 in december.
My front tyre still has lot of life... have decided to go for a R15 V2 front when required.
BTW, i have seen a guy on this forum who converted his apache into a monoshock on his apache, is a mod like that practical? Will it help me in improving the ride quality?
Rode a friends Unicorn Dazzler yesterday and its rear suspension was very good...
Also i took a close look and felt that RTR's current suspension can be tweaked/adjusted, can some one shed light on what kind of result can be expected through the change?Apache 180

Sure, i actually got this idea of R15 rubber when i was discussing it with ravi anna(he is also planning for installing that tyre on his dazzler), i was thinking of changing along with him in case he decides R15 tyre. We might get a discount if go togetherOriginally posted by onlinesatish View Post@sai pranav
Let me know where and for how much are you getting the R15 V2 front tyre for. My RTR needs it too.

That's worth trying some time later! Btw, as you know RTR 180's front tire spec is 90/90 17". Still the YZF R15 V2.0's 90/80 17" front tire would suit well enough, right? The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Even i observed that there is a slight difference(i guess it translates to 0.9mm)... but if the tyre is really good quality i'm sure it will be pretty good.Originally posted by Rtrlover83 View PostThat's worth trying some time later! Thanks mate.
