No there is no relation between the ABS and an engine's rev-limit.

There is no point in taking the bike up till 12k rpm. 11k rpm is in itself a great feat!! Personally, i have touched over 11k rpm in 4th gear. The speedo was showing up some 123km/hr, IIRC!!

          What are you guys saying?

My bike shies away from hitting 125kmph even in the 5th cog!

          What's the trick? 11.5k rpm?

          • 1st service done

Used Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40 (but i got it for 185 while the mrp was 245 )

Now my bike is smoother than that when it had TVS oil.

Just one complain the f**king a**hole mechanic was ripping my bike under the name of testing

Same here... I can get a max of 127-129kph at fifth gear

But I have hit 112kph at 4th gear

BTW: SHELL Advance oil is available in Castrol Edge Store, Kotla Mubarkarpur Red light (Close to South Ex), Delhi.

Did I say one can't do that? I just said I remember his post when he posted about that high RPM 4th cog thingie.

Though I am skeptical about 123/124 on 4th cog, but I didn't say he (or even you) are lying.

                  • The max indicated speeds in 4th and 5th cogs would be 116km/hr, 134km/hr. The later needs some open road to climb till there. Personally I've managed 130km/hr (level road) even when wind direction was against me.

Btw, 120km/hr is the one mark this bike would reach easily (that's some thing very cool). Pls don't strain the engine to go above that point often.

I guess, top end is not the priority of the RTR 180. It's tuned for a more ballistic mid-range thrust. How many of you know that this is the ride which is the quickest till 80km/hr? (put aside the Ninja, CBR 250's) The P220 won't catch it till there, and the YZF-R15 till 100km/hr.

Dude's Ride Safe. You don't want to hurt yourself nor your babe, and of course the people around you
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

this was bound to happen right?? when is the ideal time to push the bike to the max??? after this i have taken the bike upto 11K RPM when the bike was about 6k old no problems...can i now push it till 12K??
These bikes are made to take abuse bro But all of it has to do with throttle control, that is ,give your right wrist a break in between and she'll be screaming like a banshee. But,yes care should be taken during the run-in period.

Nobody wants to hurt anybody, be it's you/me/my bike.People fall off the bike @50kph and hurt themselves badly and their babe. Yes,I am in full agreement that one should not challenge his bike's limit and that of his own by doing high-speed runs daily..Makes no sense at all!

And I say, even trying to keep a P220/r15 at bay till 80kph/100kph is as much a foolery as hitting the red-line daily. Just because you are faster to 100kph doesn't necessarily mean that you have to lead the pack always.

Don't think I am picking each of your words and hitting back. I am just adding a few more to yours. So,stay cool!

Ah,yes.Once in a while(a month or two) I will definitely want to hit the red-line and try to push it to the limits. Also, try to show some smart ass riding an r15 that mine-is-faster-than-yours till 100kph(did this yesterday only!) but not everyday. And that's what I guess chicane and abhishek were doing!

And if I am not doing this at all then WHY the bloody hell I got this bike???
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

Mine still reaches 125km/hr within a 500 metres stretch. Highest still remains at 137km/hr though!!

P220 DTSi is a monster.RTR is no match for it. RTR 180 can only compete/remains ahead uptill 110km/hr against the R15. RTR is quicker than the P220 DTS Fi, though in the run 100-110km/hr.

                              • Hey guys, I compared the performance of our ride with it's competitors just to point out that it's not a machine tuned for out right top end performance, but mid-range grunt. And the info i shared was from a popular mag.

Till this day, believe it or not, i haven't raced with any guy on the road, no sir. And i will try not to, ever. I ride above 6k rpm on some early mornings 2 or 3 times a month, on one particular road only, with some cool corners and a nice straight. I've said this already

Yes, i absolutely like to race with other dudes, but only on a track with full riding gear. Don't know when it's gonna happen
