  • Actually there are many TVS SVC's which are quite sensible, if you ask them not to change oil they wont do it,in fact the SHANTI TVS SVC @himayat nagar guy asks your specifically if you want to avoid oil change, i have got my 4 free services done there and he did give me the option of skipping that tvs tru4, but since my knowledge was poor about these stuff i never took that chance <_<

So, i suggest you look for a SVC where the mechanic is kind enough to let you skip the oil change, and youll save 298 rupees

    I have a query:
One of my friend was recently talking about "TVS performance kit"
What is it exactly, what kind of upgrades does it provide?

bro, i think you have a DSG textile jacket right? I like to have one too, the DSG Maze ...How and from where did you buy it? Is it ok to buy it online from Planet DSG website

BTW i changed oil (to Shell Advance AX7 10W40 SS) and filter from the SVC itself as you've said, during the 6th pay service. I'am very satisfied with the new oil. I feel the engine is revving more smoothly, and not getting much hot too Also, previously at times when i opened the throttle quickly during city commutes (not recommended though ) ,the bike would surge ahead, but quickly the response just fades away as if there is no link between the throttle/engine for sometime, and then would recover as if nothing happened
This problem just vanished after this service
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

No. My jacket is the Cramster Pulse (discontinued). You can get Cramster/DSG jackets from AutoQueen, Kaloor, Cochin. Pm me if you'd like the details of the shop...
Any non-mineral oil makes gear shifts and the ride feel a lot better... but keep an eye on the levels often, as synthetics have a habit of dropping in level...

Does the electricals in this bike have some sort of a fuse. I am going to Leh this weekend and was just wondering. I checked everything at the SC except the fuse thing
        Just kidding...

Yes.. there is a fuse. Its the white box thingy fixed in the middle of the battery holder. Get a pair of replacement fuses before you hit the road...
And all the best for your Leh ride. I've one in the pipeline, later this year, Aug/Sep.

Yeah i would keep check of the engine oil level. Going to buy a pack of oil for topping up when needed

Yes,more practical than the R15 anyday.I have no issues with quality or vibrations. What I want to get rid of is bad/inefficient A.S.S!

I guess, you cannot retrofit the ABS.Read it in OD mag where TVS officials were asked about the same..

            Must be around 1500 bucks!
Came to know from lijok that SS & FS oil's tend to drop their levels quicker than minerals Better performance do come at a price
So don't forget to check often and top it up to the correct level when needed. You may also go to the SVC if you think there is some other reason behind the oil level drop

It's a dream that will never materialize. But i think TVS did show something similar in Auto Expo a long time back

Contact Joel (:.Welcome To Race Concepts.:). Read a lot of good things about him. Ask LIJOK for first hand exp

Thanks We are being forced to take the Delhi-Srinagar-Leh route as the Manali-LEH highway is still closed. But nevermind

I spoke to my friend and he was pretty sure there is an extra fuse already in the white box. Can someone confirm it? I don't want to open my bike at this time

I have been using MOTUL 300v 10w40 since last 5k kms. but have not experienced significant oil level drop. But the drain period is not very high (lasts about 2.5-3k kms max). Expensive but guess the bike loves it

I'm told this is the better route to take the first time... the gain in altitude per day is also less, and you get familiar with the terrain too... without too much demand on you.

Yeah.. there is a spare.. but if you blow your fuse due to some reason, you can be pretty sure you'll blow the reserve one also when you replace it (without fixing the real issue). And its no big deal.. just open that white box and you have the spare inside itself. But do purchase a set before you set out for the above said reason...

Its drops faster when you are on a long ride with continuous non-stop rides. And yeah, the drain period is not at all increased, atleast as per my observation. But the cost is well justified due to smoother gear shifts and rev-happy engine.
Only thing is, before setting out on a long ride (500+), its better to change the oil and filter, depending on how much its been since last change. And when on such "endurance rides" like Leh, the trouble in carrying a reserve can is well worth it...

Yes, even I'll recommend going through Srinagar route, reason being the same AMS. While you can always choose to ride back via Manali (obviously, if the route is open).

                    +1

About the vibes near console, make sure that the trrr trrrr sound ain't coming because of the keychain striking/rubbing over the handlebar assembly.

The SVC guy (Narendra) at siddhivinayak TVS, goregoan, is good. Knows quite a lot and patiently answers queries. They aren't much busy so you can expect quick service too if you go there before afternoon.

Thanks. will ask my svc about it as i too have been experiencing the same. visited the svc yesterday for a peculiar problem. whenever i used to turn the handle to the right when idling, the rpm used to increase a little. the mech just moved around a couple of wires and adjusted the throttle free play and it was gone.
