  • Hello Everyone!! I have seemed to missed a lot it seems!! Had been out of station and had traveled there on My bike itself!! So kinda enjoyed the ride too!!
But Would need some help guys!!
Before en route,I had given My Bike for first servicing. Had specifically warned the the SVC guy that I'll be driving on highways(and I meant like national express highways) , so couldn't risk bike stopping or any other driving issue. But damm them!! When I started the tour on next day, shifting to 4th and 5th gear was terrible!! Had to press hard to do so and could hear sound of shifting with a helmet on!! What is this problem related to? Means does it concern with the Oil? I had changed the oil at first servicing , but that damm guy at SVC used TRU4 only!! Said that he will not use any other oil, whatsoever!!
Then later on, I have started to hear a particular sound from rear of bike. It's like as if the mud flap or the number plate is flapping. But both of them seemed impossible as I checked and they were tight. So any guesses where the sound is from. Also, it's not continuous.
Also, one morning as I was going out, none of the unit would startup!! No light, display, indicators nothing!! Then shaked a few wires near the battery and it came on!!
All this and after first servicing!! Dunno what I'll be experiencing in future!!!

P.S. : Was driving at 50km/hr, all along route as I'm still in Run in period.

I guess it is not advisable to use 10w30 in Apache, and that too in summer, when temperature soars over 40 C
lol,If the owner says this then I guess you shouldnt complain about the SVC.

I guess I will pour valvo oil into engine, will use SS from now, Will service my bike day after tomorrow

                  Will fix

I guess I need to change the battery.there is no prob with the charge of the battrey

I am so hell tired of telling the same to him. He just knows and says one thing right from the day I met him "TVS ka tel (oil) dus-tees (10-30) grade waala hai to uski bike mein yahi tel dalega. Aapko zyaada pata hai to TVS ko email karo ki bees-chaalis (20-40) ka tel nikaale"

And there comes an "experience" chap there (from PR staff you can say) and says "bhaiya aap jo tel laaye ho wo bees-chaalis hai... ye puraani bikon (bikes) mein dalta tha... dus-tees nayi technology hai"

I seriously wonder sometimes that I'm living in a city which is our national capital and a colony which is Asia's second biggest colony

EDIT: Didn't get why shouldn't I complain about the SVC SVC stands for Service Center, not for mechanics

Be humble and ask him what is the significance of this dus-tees,and bees-chaalis
if he cant answer it then politely tell him the meaning of it and ask if any of the SVC "enggs" knew about it,if they didnt knew about it then tell him brashly "WHY THE HELL HE IS OPERATING AN SVC WITH IMPOTENT PEOPLE"
He will surely succumb to his "injuries' for sure.

Try doing twice. He just says that its okay if you (I) believe that they don't have much knowledge about things. If you are a genius then "TVS KO MAIL KARO" Thinking of changing the service center next time (after getting Shell Advanced 20w40 Mineral Oil poured in my bike. (one of the mechanic said he'll do that for me but I have to bring my bike there after 12'O clock).

And, I also mailed TVS and got some auto-generated kind of replies 2-3 times telling me about the features of TVS TRU4 only :| Later, got a call from some officer of Delhi, TVS who said that the SVC people won't pour your own oil. You can get it done from a local mechanic. All I (he) can do is that he'll tell the SVC guys not to change my engine oil as I don't ride my bike much so that I can pour the oil of my own choice. See, how helpless one can be in such situations

Anyways, my bike is vibrating badly @ 60+ kmph and it gets creepy above 80-85 The tacho needle is also vibrating like anything past 6.5K. Any suggestions?

Well, the situation of my gears is also similar to yours
i have completed four services and still they are yet to rectify the problem, after coming to this forum i have understood that tvs tru4 is not exactly the perfect engine oil, next time ill ask the tvs guys not to replace engine oil and ill use a different engine oil through a mechanic, but even im not sure which engine oil i should use . I want to use an engine oil which does not compromise performance/mileage but still makes my engine/gearbox smooth...

I am reading posts here since quite a long time and people are shifting from engine oil to engine oil very frequently so im even more confused what to use.

I changed my engine oil from Tru4T to Motul after the very first service. The one thing I hate about the RTR is the gearbox. It isn't as good as its counterparts (based on my experience).

Motul IMO is better and gives satisfactory results. However if you want a butter smooth gearbox, Castrol Power1 is the oil to go for. The only disadvantage is the Castrol oil takes time to settle in so it might be few hundred kilometers before you start experiencing the difference.
