Kudos Drifty for your experiments! you do all the hard work in behalf of us! let's see what improvement it makes..Originally posted by Drifty View Post...
Are m happy wid RTR but I was searching for a stock cylindrical paper air filter of a bike which can be a direct fit in my bike, thats the reason I asked you about it that day.IMO a paper air cleaner is better than the foam one cause the foam filter feels restricted due to its high filtration capacity. No one has tried it before in the apache, lets see if it makes any difference.

There is no special maintenance cost. Just regular regular costs such as engine oil, chain lubricant... same as with other bikes...Originally posted by madhav766 View Postcould someone give me the maintenance costs of the a180? looking at going for it. anyone toured on the bike?कृपया यहाँ पर ज्ञान न बांटे

for BOLD part:Originally posted by madhav766 View Postcould someone give me the maintenance costs of the a180? looking at going for it. anyone toured on the bike?
There is a myth that Apaches are not good for Touring. It's not true. See some of the best trip-logs for yourself:

the trip of Garry_Menace: A surprising 3 days' ride to Dehradun/Mussoorie/Dhanaulti...

There's no maintainance cost man. Other than the regular service charges, there's only engine oil, filter change (as already told by Social) which costs 200-250 INR depending upon which oil(mineral) do you use.Originally posted by madhav766 View Postcould someone give me the maintenance costs of the a180? looking at going for it. anyone toured on the bike?
+1 to the bold part. It is very much comfortable on long rides alsoOriginally posted by vineshp View Postfor BOLD part:

As far as my experience, you can check out the links in my signature (one being already shared by vinesh in above quote). Even my college commuting is 100kms on NH-1 (distance covered in both ways). And, there's many other guys here who tour on RTR including Shivank, Drifty etc.
Man, just in case you don't know, the RTR180 ABS comes in a different tone of white than that of RTR180 (non-ABS). So, it must not be dull. Its that the ABS version doesn't have the "pearl" white shine. It comes in plain white (normal).Originally posted by sureshcsc View PostHi All, I saw an apache 180 ABS near to my house. Color of the bike is very dull. Do we have any solution to maintain the white color to last loooonggg!!!?Join my facebook Page: Life On 2-Wheels | Blog: Life On 2-Wheels

@sureshcsc: The A180-ABS has the same Pearl White paint. Just compare ABS Vs NON-ABS in showroom. Only 'visible' change is the stickering changed from grey to the more black-orange one.
The 'pearl white' color looks:- non-metallic white when viewed from a distance in mornings
- glitters in sunlight when viewed closely
- in dull light/shade looks like a metallic ivory color

so don't worry

Umm, well thats on one side you said that its just the stickering which is different, and on the other you said that its "dull" tint of pearl white.Originally posted by vineshp View Post@sureshcsc: The A180-ABS has the same Pearl White paint. Haha, okay jokes apart, buddy I maybe wrong about the exact nomenclature of the color and I accept it if you say so. But what I really meant is that it doesn't have that same glittering effect and hence the bold word in my post as quoted above in this post.
So, the actual query of the person being is it a faded one or not gets still the same answer that the bike he saw wasn't faded/dull(lost its glitter) but it was the original color shade/tone/"tint"
of the bike itself.

this may happen due to various reasons. Majorly due toOriginally posted by saipranav View PostJust went to a private mechanic and got my spark plug and air filter cleaned... still the problem is unsolved... mech was not able to check what the problem was since there was no road to cross 8k rpm even in 1st gear... he asked me to come by 11am in the morning tomorrow and said will work on it...
Doesn't anyone have a clue what my problem could be?
1. tappet setting completely screwed- results in abnormal head noise as well
2. Internal failure of spark plug
3. Spark missing-Result of TCI/TCI connector or wiring
4. fuel flow to carb not proper
However, cant be commented till ridden and checked properlyThere's lot to it other than saddle....

i am planning to go a trip.....can the RTR take countious cruising at 8-9k RPM??? that would be 110-115 km/h in the 5th gear.i will take breaks of course fot for 2 hours without a stop??? or will it be punishing for the engine?
if not can the R15 cruising at the above mentioned speeds and RPMS??

Now for some strange reason, my bike doesn't seem to have the throaty grunt that is evident on regular Apaches. Even the acceleration seems somewhat tame as compared to others. What could be the reason? When I bought the bike exactly 2 months ago, I remember some doofus rear ended me a little bit with his Swift (just hit my exhaust a li'l bit). and all I got was some paint off his car onto my bike. Please help me :/sigpic

Well, I agree with you: The answer to the question is the bike he saw was not faded. But, on the other hand I do not think there is any contradiction. The ABS is slightly of dull white compared to the non ABS (at least the first lot, which my bike belongs to). However, that should not make a striking difference in the tint and that's where the orange decals plays its part in adding to the optical illusion and making the color to appear duller. Just trying to explain, since I felt I have probably not explained it better in my earlier post.Originally posted by Garry_Menace View PostUmm, well thats on one side you said that its just the stickering which is different, and on the other you said that its "dull" tint of pearl white.

Anyway, maintaining white as white is tough. No matter it rains or not. If it rains there is mud splatter all over, if not a lot of dust sits on it.

Seriously, I can't tell you what is wrong. But, from my experience will ask you to check if the TCI is connected. There is a red colored socket just above the carb, check if it is connected to the TPS or just dangling around. The reason being, I had similar problems and found out that the TCI was not connected to the TPS.Originally posted by aamirjamal View PostNow for some strange reason, my bike doesn't seem to have the throaty grunt that is evident on regular Apaches.
