The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

It's you to decide whether to go for the Apache RTR 180 ABS version or wait for a new bike from TVS

Btw, take a look at the Wiki link to know what a street fighter class is.

Man, you know what? We missed each other just by few metres

Yesterday, I saw 2 bulleteers with heavy saddlebags etc with Kerala reg. no.s on NH1 just before entering the Delhi border. I was in a Santro (friend's car) coming back from college. Once I saw the heavily loaded bikes, I asked my friend to speed up and get closer and found KA reg. no.s but as soon as we were trying to reach beside them, the border guys came into picture and my friend slowed down and after that, we didn't find those bullets because the traffic didn't allow us to speed-up the car

Okay, now when I've narrated the whole incident, let me ask "Where those really you guys?"

LOL! Sorry for being so unclear, but I asked it with respect to "to compete with FZ", not "streetfighter" I mean, why would they launch a lower segment bike even when we've already have RTR160 which is already quite ahead of FZ in terms of performance, and performance is what the whole RTR family is concentrated on, ain't it bro?

And, to the streetfighter tag, yes I agree that the TYPICAL DEFINITION doesn't fit RTR EXACTLY into the class, but being already a naked bike, it ain't quite different from being a streetfighter so it makes no sense to launch a "streetfighter" version just removing the headlight doom.

First of all, i was unclear in my post Bro

AFAIK, Series RTR is TVS's Sports Bike range which is ever ready for track days. It is known as a track bike, minus a full fairing. The gearing is such that one could red line the 5th cog even in a relatively short straight (on a race track that is) The clip on bars and high/rear set foot pegs is for a super sport riding experience. The lean angles which RTR's are capable of shows the track friendly nature and not to mention the short stroke screamer mill

You remember the VELOCITY concept TVS showcased on the Jakarta Auto Expo? Okie, it employed a RTR 160 engine, right, but the styling is similar to the FZ16 which is the baby FZ1. It's engine might be tuned for a more low end torque, and featured large diameter front forks, droopy headlights and the high, single piece and flat handle bar all of which endows typical street fighter attitude. My bad, i didn't mention about the VELOCITY concept in my post.

LOL our bad, I was taking streetfighter in context with the looks as in, the streetfighter version is one in which the original(the existing) version of a bike is "stripped" and all, and on the performance part being even superior to FZ, they won't go for it. On the other hand, you were talking in the other context LOL... anyways, about the Velocity, yes I very much remember it, even have a tab opened for it since some days LOL! Yeah you're ABSolutely right, it could be seen as a streetfighter more aptly Thats why I said RTR is not exactly the streetfighter.

EDIT: And on the TRACK BIKE part, yes you're right bro But, if we see it in real and practical, its surely a bike for tracks but it is also given with the lower-middle and middle end torque keeping in mind the city riding . Again, its surely quite a good and suitable bike for tracks as you already said, but they even focused on the city riding part also, otherwise we wouldn't be having the lower end torque in it. Just like in R15 and baby Ninji where one can easily feel the absence of pulling power in lower speeds while riding in city.

No bro... we had no bullets in the group. Also, we reached Delhi on 19th morning. Could not meet anyone due to the time constraints...

Oh Then, its good that we hadn't been able to reach beside those guys. Otherwise, I would've stopped them to ask about you and they would think me more as some stupid crazy fellow. I can imagine them talking like "this stupid fellow thinks that there's only a single guy in Kerala who tour on motorcycles"

Thanks! I tried today while riding to home, it feels cumbersome in traffic to shift/brake as of now. Will try it in long rides and revert back.

The stock setting is too high and cramps your foot upwards. Ideally, the foot should be at roughly 90 degrees to the leg.
You guys are discussing on making it more comfortable. What about those who want more aggressive foot-peg positioning? Something like the R15 (higher and more rear-set). Guess, this will help in leaning the bike a wee-bit more. Or perhaps, make my dreams of doing a knee-scrap (while on the bike and not off it!) come true easily.

Ok! So i'm not the only one who thinks the rtr's rearsets could be more rearset! The Cbz is a much more relaxed bike ergonomically, but the rearsets in that are much further back. guess tvs didn't wanna get too extreme.

There is a sub-frame between the frame and the rearset of the rtr. A more aggressive rearset 'plate' can be machined to replace this i guess.
