Rear Wheel spinning in gear on Main Stand ,with clutch disengaged,is normal in every bike and nothing to worry about...Regarding Carburetor basics here are some links to explain ...The first one is a very lengthy one dealing with fundamentals, while the second link is specifically about a Keihin carb...Keihin and Mikuni CV carbs work on same principle ,though Jet values will totally differ....Originally posted by shivank View Post

Contact Nanotechnology(xbhp member) from Mumbai. He may help you.Originally posted by New guy View PostCould anyone tell me Where in mumbai I can get my bike converted to full DC to run 55W bulb? Have inquired local mechs but even after explaining the entire process listed here (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/desi-bik...s-all-day.html) none of them are confident to do it. So If anyone from Mumbai has done it please tell me from where and the cost.
Also if anyone knows about anyone in Pune who can do it then I don't mind riding to Pune to get it done too!
Thanks for the links Sir.BTW I am surprised you are keeping track of this thread.Originally posted by psr View PostRear Wheel spinning in gear on Main Stand ,with clutch disengaged,is normal in every bike and nothing to worry about...Regarding Carburetor basics here are some links to explain ...The first one is a very lengthy one dealing with fundamentals, while the second link is specifically about a Keihin carb...Keihin and Mikuni CV carbs work on same principle ,though Jet values will totally differ....

Actually, I was talking about the time when the clutch was engaged. And not disengaged. I tried the same, to check whether it's normal, on two of my friends bike(both P220s) and it was completely 'normal'. Engage the clutch and the wheel comes to halt, which is not the case with mine.Originally posted by psr View PostRear Wheel spinning in gear on Main Stand ,with clutch disengaged,is normal in every bike and nothing to worry about.
Thanks for the links on the carbs.

Hey guy's
I know good quality unleaded fuel from a reputed pump is best for our rides. But among BP Speed (been using this brand for some time) and IOC Xtra Premium, which one would you guy's vouch for our bike or bike's in general?
I'am inclined to use Speed/Xtra Premium as these fuels contain cleansers that might be of some help.Last edited by Rtrlover83; 09-19-2011, 09:00 PM.The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Just went to a private mechanic and got my spark plug and air filter cleaned... still the problem is unsolved... mech was not able to check what the problem was since there was no road to cross 8k rpm even in 1st gear... he asked me to come by 11am in the morning tomorrow and said will work on it...Originally posted by saipranav View PostHey guys... my bike is herking after reaching 8k rpm... can somebody tell me what is the problem... please... its happening in all the gears...
I went to the TVS guy on friday and he agreed that there is a problem and asked me to come on monday and when i went today he returned me the bike just now saying there is no problem at all...
Some mechs are saying that the jerking is due to problem in coil or electric stuff...
While the TVS guy on friday said there might be problem in the valve and it might be leaking or something...
I'm going to call TVS higher officials today and get my work done anyway...
I would like to know what exactly is the problem from you guys so that i can make those dumb lazy asses understand easily...
Doesn't anyone have a clue what my problem could be?Apache 180

Lol! You have full right to grin on that.Originally posted by Garry_Menace View Post@Shivank

Its not engaging.
Either ways, I am very confused now. An engaged clutch means the wheels will rotate as the whole system is connected. Engine to clutch to transmission to wheels. If I disengage the clutch (depress it
) the connection/link breaks? Right? Then, how are the wheels still rotating when I pull throttle ?
If there's any other system that doesn't depend on the clutch operation (never heard of any till date), could anyone care to explain me how it works??

haha! The grin just came because being here for such time is enough to be friendly enough to have little giggles over silly mistakes of each other, IMOOriginally posted by shivank View PostLol! You have full right to grin on that.

Ain't it buddy?
Anyways, coming to the problem, yes you explained it right. I didn't say that you're misinterpreting the problem. You're right about it but just fumbled with the engaging-disengaging thingie. And, even my bike's wheel rotates with quite a low speed with the fully depressed clutch. I think its okay for the RTRs (even for other bikes), thats what I read somewhere in this thread only when I noticed this thing in my bike. Didn't tried watching the effect of throttle on it.Join my facebook Page: Life On 2-Wheels | Blog: Life On 2-Wheels
