There is a sub-frame between the frame and the rearset of the rtr. A more aggressive rearset 'plate' can be machined to replace this i guess.
Who doesn't want the rearsets, man! I wish TVS makes up its mind to sell performance products someday!
OT: I happened to see sometime back, a pair of rearsets from Yoshimura on a blue RXZ coupled with Yoshimura disc brakes and clip-on handle bars. Man, I fell in love with the machine instantly.
Well, RTR's tank looks as if been sculpted. However, it doesn't provide the perfect lines for the knees to rest, unlike R15!
The feel is not quite up there.

It isn't comfortable initially but, stick to it and I bet, you 'd enjoy more.
PS: Dig for a thread under Universal threads on Cornering/Body positions. It is mostly inactive nevertheless, it has tons of useful information from Killer, Joel and other track day junkies.

      • my bike's idling problem...finally solved!!

ohk guys this is gonna be a long post so pls bear with me
i have been facing this high idling and jerking problem from a month or so.initially thought the air filter was the culprit so cleaned it twice and tried doin some carb adjustment myself too nothing changed though!!
ohk so on 22nd i took my bike to innovative tvs svc.
i told him to check for the TPS as DRIFTY had changed and even told him to check the carb!
they eventually convinced me that tappets were the problem and they had to be adjusted.
knowing that no part needed to be changed i agreed.
at first he adjusted the tappets and then started the bike.it showed similar symptoms and had not improved a bit! in fact they said its a bit better but i didnt agree a bit
so then he removed some petrol from the carb and foung some dirt there and concluded that was the culprit!!
but nope! the bike would still idle at 3 k rpm even after him cleaning it and adjusting the air fuel screw for 15 minutes..
meanwhile he kept on revving the bike till 10-12 k rpm and my tachometer had a bit too much and went to -1000 rpm i.e went past 0 and settled back at an imaginary -1k mark! he later did set it back to 0!

by now even i was frustrated to bits and thought what might have gone wrong!!the mech even told me to go and sit in the office as the manager would scold him for letting me stand next to my babe BS!

finally he concluded the throttle cable needs to be changed and then the problem would be solved! i agreed as even i was running out of solutions!!and yeah even after changing the cable the problem persisted

2 hrs after starting the job and it still felt like nothing had changed! i had almost given up!!

and then a ray of lightening struck him and he removed the choke cable from the carb!
voila! the bike showed no signs of high idling after that!
on inspection he noticed that the choke cable had gone kaput and it needed replacement!! unfortunately he didnt have a new cable with him so he cut the existing one and connected one end to the carb!

finally my menace was fine and it revved just as it did when i had got it off the showroom!

special thanks to drifty and nox for their valuable suggestions and everyone for reading this boring post!

Some moron made deep scratches on the petrol tank and the paint completely peeled off. Is there any way to paint those scratches? Mine is a white A180.

Don't start to dislike the Carb. Carb problems are easier to fix than a FI system (they too get problems now and then. Ex. the injectors getting clogged). The tools required for Carb work are screwdrivers, some cleaner liquid, pressurized air etc., and finally a skilled Mechanic

P.S. The Kawasaki Ninja 250R which is the World's (read 'WORLD') best 250cc twin is sold in the US fitted with a carburetor and not an FI system. Reason, to cut cost's and the not so strict emission norms there

+1, and dealing with FI on unauthorised SVC are almost close to impossible (hardly handful of them can deal). Also taking the SVCs in account, its still a pain in the @$$ to find a solution if you get a problem in FI system.

the best part was he put my old throttle cable back and i had to hardly shell out 125 bucks for labour
that even betters the money i had to shell out at petrol pumps to refuel her!
was giving me pathetic mileage due to this problem!!
today checked the mileage and got a decent 42 with those occasional speed bursts!

Good that the problem is solved now.The choke might always be open due to the faulty rusted cable making the mixture rich all the time, hence the low mileage and incorrect idle rpm.
EDIT:I am thinking of installing the GS150r's paper air filter in my bike.I guess it ll fit directly in the air box.Lets see.
