hi i did ask about your front forks they all seem to agree that the probable cause must be the fork pistons, what your local mechanics called the piston pump if you experience the problem again it might be worthwhile taking the bike to Periar TVS as far as i can make out the they are'nt that very hesitant about replacing parts under warranty

      • ^Thanks for the Info.As of Now ,the Problem is not reoccuring as of Yet.moreover ,I have doubts whether if I purchase from one dealer and do the servicing at other dealer...I am doubtful.

This is my first bike, and ive only done 400ish kms on it yet, so the issues in stability I face might just be my fault. But the issues I face are

-I've been on a friends ZMA with a pillion, and the maneuverability and handling is better than a 180 with a pillion. I mean the 180 just wobbles like mad with somebody sitting behind me. Never got that from the ZMA.
-Riding alone, I've felt that other bikes are generally more comfortable than the 180 on normal and bumpy roads.

So is this because of the crap stock tyres or is it just me?

Pretty pleased with everything else though.

            This is news to me.

Even if your bike is new, these would be the possible reasons for the issue.

            (i) Bent Alloy Rim
            (ii) Low Shockabsorber oil/leak
(iii) Low Greasing of the T-joint(Handle)/Lack of sufficient bearings.
            (iv) Low Tyre Pressure

Did you spill your bike by any chance.Probably the handle/chassis has taken the beating and that is reflected in the handling.

Even i noticed my bike pulling towards right during the first few days of ownership. Tightened and greased the steering cone. After that the pull has been reduced by 90%!!

pillon always creates the havoc in handling always remember that...
if the pillion is well knowing your kinda riding and is complementing you in the turns by properly leaning with the bike on leans, and distributing the weight while getting out will compliment but still it cannot be compared when u ride alone...

who was the pillion in both cases??
                  i mean same or diff??
his weight also be playing great role in that...

otherwise check the points what CHICANE mentioned....

the RTR180 is slightly on the stiffer side that complements great on the handling but sucks at the comfort depatment (remember the famous ride of BEEMER 3 series???)

if you want soft ride make the rear shocks at 2 or 1 setting, but you then have to sacrifice on the feel and little angles on the leaning department....

                            • went to the Sc in the evening....they checked the steering for the 'tuck' noise....dosent seem to come from the steering cone....tightened some bolts, now the sound is still there but reduced a little bit....RHS pulling is the same though.....they said that they will be looking into it at the time of first service....along with the brakes...

could anyone tell me how Disk Brakes are cleaned??

Technically you can get your bike serviced at any TVS authorized service center so no problems there and the service guys would'int even make an issue out of it after all when you think about it they are getting a new customer.

I really don't know about the quality of service at Kothamangalam, i dont own a TVS bike after all. The only reason i can comment on periar is cos i personally work there.
